Q: What prop specification do you need to look for with the one flat shaft? If I'm not mistaken, dji standard is two flat?

Yes the dji props have the flats in the prop but any prop with a round hole and the little round adapters will also work. A clock wise rotation prop will be used on a motror with a counter clock wise spinner nut, the clockwise rotation of the motor and prop will cause the spinner nut to tighten. This motor is good for a 8" to 10" prop, I Have had my best results using a 14 volt battery for the 8 and 9 inch props and a 11.7 volt battery for the 10 inch props. Probably alot more info than you asked for but hopefully it's helpful.

Q: Are these 2312 or 2212?

The 2212 - 2213 designation describes a motor set that has 2 clock wise and 2 counter clock wise threaded prop adapters. When properly mounted the prop rotation will prevent the prop fixing nut from coming loose.

In my limited experience you are right. However, some manufacturers stray from this rule. The Gartt example is one of those. They list the Model# as ML2312S but in the description it states 2212. Unless you have a very specific size tolerance, there are other more important factors. Depending on your application some are more critical than others. In the case of a quad matching motors is very important. Volts, Amps, and Watts help determine ESC and battery requirements. The combination of battery voltage and KV determines the RPM and from there help with sizing the prop length and pitch. One basic motor spec that gets overlooked until installation is the bolt and pattern for mounting the motor. And although it sounds simple, CW/CCW tell you which way the motor rotates and if you need a standard prop or pusher prop. There are programs available online to calculate all this for you, but they are complicated and nearly impossible for the beginner to use. Your best bet is to join a flying club and benefit from the more experienced members. Most are willing and happy to help. I would suggest choosing an AMA Chartered club. This is a lot more info than you asked for, but I hope it helped.
