These cut beautifully. Bits don’t look like much but they perform as well or better than my fancy cobalt bits. These way outperform the dies from my big die kit,

I do gun-smithing and when tapping barrels or receivers, i can't afford to make mistakes. The drill bits are true, stay sharp and are well matched to the corresponding tap. The taps cut with surprising ease. Made quick, clean cuts and I will be able to reuse without worry of a hang up!

This is a very nice set of common metric taps and associated drills. I had a large metric thread that I needed to match on a Jet shaper, and this filled the bill nicely. Both taps and drills are of sufficient quality to meet the DIYer's needs.

This seems like a well made set. I was trying to avoid China goods.

These are made in U.S.A., so much better quality than Chinese crap sold by DeWalt, Bosch and Milwaukee these days. If used correctly these should last a while (using oil/paste and correct techniques). Having said that, I once went through the whole set in less than a week due to not using cutting oil and not having proper tapping wrenches (my department was just starting out). After acquiring a new set I made sure to do things right this time and the set is still with me. If you are only looking for a few particular sizes - I suggest taking a look at Guhring. Those are German made, they blow these out of the water, but are priced accordingly.
