Critical Role Vox Machina: Origins Volume 1 Paperback – Illustrated, 17 Oct. 2019

A must for critters out there! This is the story if how Vox Machina met, essentially re-telling the Critical Role gang's antics up until we join them at the beginning of Ep1 of campaign 1.The artwork is gorgeous and I love the look of the characters. Really colourful, clean lines. The writing is spot on as well as I can really link the characters with how they are portrayed by the CR team. Also I've really been waiting for this to come out hardcopy as althought digital is cool, I prefer having the real thing in my hand.

Read it the day it arrived, the art style is superb and it's good to see the characters while they were a bit dorky. Loved every page, it's a candy to look at

Only just hit the 50th episode of Vox Machina's journey and am already so incredibly invested in this amazing story. The comic is beautiful and I'm so happy to be able to learn more about their journey and support the amazing creators along the way! This would make a great gift for any one invested in Vox Machina's antics - though fair warning Percy is not present from the get go!

My husbands review of this graphic novel 🎲⚔️Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Vol 1⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨️Art style - Very animated and engaging, fun noticing little details in the background.Plot - A very exciting introduction to the characters, plot lacking initial depth but has opened up room for a ton of expansion, as I'm sure there will be.Characters - Every character is lovable in very different ways, all with extremely different personalities, allowing for some fun conflict and banter between each of them.Readability (panel layout, lettering etc) - There was a lot of animation shown in each panel, which gave very clear indications of how characters were moving and descriptions of their actions. There were some panels that I found hard to discern between who was talking and in what order, but these were very few.Q - Was it as enjoyable as the show?Yes, the excitement, drama and the comedy matches up very well with the show.Q - Who was your favourite character?I love them all, although Vex and Vax both stand out as being extra bad*ss. I hope Tiberius sticks around for a while so I can see more of his character come out.
