Good Camera for the Price
I bought two of these cameras and have one hooked up in the front and one in the rear of the vehicle. The cameras themselves are smaller than I thought, not any larger than the palm of a persons hand. There is no GPS, but I wanted them to keep an eye on my sons car in his high school parking lot which has had a number of car keying incidents and other car damage in the past few years. I turned off the g-sensor and turned on motion detection and so far the motion detection is working well, i.e. in the garage at night the camera records nothing but in the morning when I walk in front of the car it does begin recording and when the car is driven. If it turns out I need to keep recording non-stop that is also an option because each camera has a 32gb card in it so you get quite a few hours out of each card before it starts overwriting the old files. The cameras are both plugged in to lighter sockets that have continuous power so cameras are always on. I have let the car sit for over 24 hours and had no trouble starting the vehicle so am expecting whatever amps these cameras are pulling that is very minimal and will not drain down the battery unless the car is sitting for a very long time. The night vision is not that great so you will still need to park in well lit areas if you want to record activity at night.Camera does record at 1080p and quality is good enough to read license plates.Screen can be told to shut off after so many minutes so it looks like camera is not turned on.It does have a date/time stamp on the recording.Plug wire is long enough to hide in ceiling and run down side of car to the lighter socket for most cars. All in all it was a good purchase for the price, now let's see how long they last and handle winter temps.

Vehicle Use? Fail, Office use - Maybe?
I bought this camera to help me with my YouTube shows where I review shortwave radios, scanner radios, antennas and other like gadgets. Often when testing a device such as a radio I find I want to record a video quickly but it takes about 15 minutes to setup my computer and webcam. I thought this camera might be good for getting those quick shots before the event passes. Here is what I found about using this camera for those kinds of recordings. Keep in mind I have only tested it an air conditioned room.Good:1) Video and audio quality are pretty good compared to my $70 webcam. Although I have a lot of control over my webcam.2) The recorded files were in a generic format so that they could be directly uploaded to YouTube.3) Once I got all the options set in the camera, it was very easy to point and start recording quickly.4) I am using a 16 GB SD card so I have not experienced the overwriting of old files once the SD card is full. The is a feature I hope to use in the future where I start the recording of test that may take several hours and hope that the recording will continue even if the card is full, erasing the oldest files.5) The instructions although poor are good enough to get one going. You will need a magnifying glass.6) The price is very good but don't expect high quality and quality control of product may suffer. One person might get one that works fine and another person get one that has problems or easily breaks.7) Camera has a lot of features that I will never use such as motion detection. Other reviews have stated this feature does not work as expected.8) Worked fine recording on both low quality SD card and a high quality one but see problems below on read the cards while they were in the camera.9) The third lowest resolution, 720, provide high quality video. It used about 120 megabytes per minute.Bad:1) Using SD cards is always a pain because they are difficult to insert and remove. This is not unique to this device but harder than most. I had hope I could just connect the camera to a computer and download the files without removing the card.2) Interfacing to a computer to read the SD worked once and then not again. I tried on several computers with several versions of Windows. On a computer with WinXP, it could not read the device. On two different computers with Win7, it worked once. On one of the computers it would see the directory but would have problems reading the files and then the device appeared to disconnect. I tried several different brands of SD cards.3) Selecting the PC Camera mode when connecting to a computer worked once and Goggle Hangout worked (once). Note there is no software with the camera and the manual says no drivers have to be installed.3) The mounting device might be useful for a vehicle but not very good for using on a desk. Maybe this would be considered a misapplication on my part.4) Unlike some other dash cam this does not have a standard tripod mounting hole. I ended up using a little tripod I have for holding cellphones for video recording.5) Night vision works fine on my desktop but I see no way it could be used at a distance of more than 18".6) Materials used are low quality plastic and I could understand why people have mentioned it was damaged in the vehicle heat. I guess this is due to direct sunlight hitting it when car is off. That could be fixed my putting it on the seat in shade when not in use but something else to remember in one's hectic day.7) I don't know how it could be used as a security camera in one's vehicle as would tend to drain the battery. This would not be a problem indoor using a computer or AC adapter.8) Built-in battery life is very short (about 5 minutes or less) but that is expected from this small and inexpensive device. Battery might be needed to save setting. Did not test to see if setting are lost if the battery is completely drained. That would be a problem.9) It has several modes for the length of each recording. You can select how long you want it to record before it closes the file and starts another one. I selected Continuous but it still only recorded for about 16 minutes (in 720P mode) and then started a new file. This would be a pain for me because if I wanted to record a show that was more than 16 minutes I would have to piece the files together or upload them as separate shows.Possible Conclusions:For the original purpose of this device I think there are too many problems with this camera but keep in mind that some cameras used for this purpose can cost a $100 or more. I think there is a high risk that the camera will fail just when you need it. So if you really want a camera to record driving accidents I would not recommend it. If you want it to just experiment to see if the concept will work for you, it is a fair choice keeping in mind it may fail and you have to be very gentle with it.For my purpose of using it in my office to help me with my YouTube videos I think it might work. The one flaw that might prevent it's continued use is having to remove the SD card to download the files to my computer. A secondary use might be as a security camera inside the house. I still need to test the feature where it records continuous and overwrites old files similar to security cameras in businesses.

Hit or miss
I had bought this exact model previously and have been quite happy with it. However after I got this latest one I can see a difference visually as well in the performance. On this particular purchase the screen either freezes up, or gets lines across it within 30 seconds of powering on, There isn't really much to review after that, it doesn't work. I reached out to the seller and he offered to troubleshoot the unit for $20 in shipping costs, on this camera that I paid $16 for. In his defense this was ~3 months after I bought the unit, but I had only just started using it as my car was getting repaired. Literally the first time that I used it, it failed. The seller did reply quickly, so as far as getting me information, good seller. As far as getting good product, not so good. I'd rather have the opposite. On my model that was purchased 2 years ago from amazon, different seller, it works great, on/off with power from ignition, I wish the angle was a little bit wider but I knew what it was when I bought it, so shame on me, not the product. Looping is good, I have a 32 GB card on there can hold a lot of video, but never have to do anything since it rewrites over the oldest footage. My mounting clip broke about a year into owning it, I had left my car at an airport parking lot in the summer and the suction cup worked itself loose, and when it fell off the windshield the clip broke.
