My shower has never looked better!
This product is amazing!! I tried many products from vinegar, bar keeper's friend, baking soda, and strong chemicals to get hard water stains off the shower. I had even read that once glass is etched, the only way to get it off is to hire someone to polish it! While I found a product to keep hard water etching at bay in a new shower, we inherited a badly etched shower when we had to move. After a lot of elbow grease, we decided to just deal w/the mucky shower until we saved enough to redo the bathroom.Enter the Pumie Scouring Stick. I had all my toilet rings gone in minutes. I thought, dare I take a chance on my shower? Yes!You can see how cr*p-tastic my shower glass was. In one photo, I show how I rubbed the Pumie Scouring Stick in the middle of an etched area. I went in a circular motion maybe 30-40 times. Voila, there is a clear circle in the midst of the haze. You can also see on the shower door how much clearer and cleaner the glass is. When I also cleaned part of the side panel, I can now clearly see the tile through 2 layers of glass into the shower.I will say that I think I started a little too vigorously on the glass. I would say a moderate pressure and more scrubbing is more effective than really hard scrubbing, as I think I scratched the glass a little in the first areas I scrubbed. Also...it'll take me a long time to do the entire shower. It does work, but I had to go over some areas multiple times to get an area completely clear.Still, I love this product and I don't know how I ever cleaned without it! We live on septic and well, and our shower heads get all gunked up. Cleaned it right off! Fan for life!

I had never heard of these before...
until I did a search on removing mineral deposits from porcelain toilets. We purchased a home that was used as a vacation home - and had the level of maintenance you would expect with such use (who fixes their house on vacation?). The toilet bowls were all stained with mineral deposits... ring around the water level and stripes down the sides. Not only unattractive, but they just didn't smell (nor look) clean. I spent about an hour (and two of these sticks) to do all three bowls and... they look nearly new. The bowls are white once again with only a faint hint of the deposits in the bowl that would likely come out further if I continued to abrade them. There are no scratches in the porcelain (that I can see), they stay cleaner, smell fresher (don't forget to grind off the gunk under the rim), and saved me a bunch of money on replacing the entire toilet. Also used them on the kitchen sink (porcelain) to clean the deposits from around the sink strainers. Again... worked like a charm.Just make sure you use a reasonable amount of water as a lubricant. The stones dissolve and leave a gray pumice in their wake (easily rinses away). Use the edge at an angle (like you would a pencil eraser) to get the best results. Polish it off with a little Barkeepers Friend and you're golden.

Works better than I imagined
I ordered this product after talking with my cousin, and boy was he right! These pumice sticks work even better than I thought they would.

Only wish I had heard of this sooner
Five years after building a new house in an area with extremely hard well water, all of our toilets had ugly hard water rings and stains. No amount of scrubbing or soaking with CLR-type products worked at all. Almost randomly I came across the Pumie scouring stick and almost didn't believe the reviews so ordered immediately. (The multi-pack price on Amazon is definitely cheaper than buying at Home Depot.) Each individual stick is rather small and I would recommend wearing rubber gloves to prevent abrasions. With just a little water and gentle scouring, five years of horrible hard water marks came completely off the toilet bowl and rim. They finally look brand new again and are much easier to keep clean since the surface is shiny and dirt doesn't stick anymore.I also had some cloudy/white hard water marks on my darker granite countertop behind the kitchen sink so I carefully tried a small spot and found it also worked perfectly. Definitely do a test area first to see if it will cause damage. I made this mistake by trying to use it at the base of my kitchen faucet and it caused some scratching. I used one stick for two toilets, three sink drains and the small area in the kitchen. Planning to keep them on hand from now on to keep everything looking good!

Never going back to chemicals or scrubbing pads
I'm not sure how I can improve on all the great reviews, but here goes. Two years ago, we renovated 2.5 bathrooms and got new toilets. The toilets were supposed to "resist stains" but that didn't happen. Our city's water supply didn't take long in leaving rings. I tried everything but sandpaper to get rid of them. A few years ago, I had tried these pumice-stones-on-a-stick on our old toilets and they didn't work at all, so I wasn't too excited about the Pumies until I read the reviews. Anyway, they came today. This evening, and I found a nice, comfortable perch by the worst toilet because--you know--I was going to be there for a long while. Well, in about 3-4 minutes, the ring was gone, so I went after the stains at the jets under the rim. Another couple of minutes, and they were gone. I'm not believing this. Only one thing--I dropped the stick right out of the packaging and it broke in two, but as it turned out that was probably a good thing. A smaller piece is easier to handle and maneuver, so I'll probably break the others in two (I got the 4-pack) when I open them.
