Can I leave it on the roof? It says temporary but I would like to leave it on my ridge, why is iy labeled temp?

If its out in the weather it could rust. Not a problem immediately but you wouldnt want to go up several years later assuming it is structurally sound and find out the hard way (failure) that corrosion has made it unsafe.

Can I go down front of garage instead of side? I want to install motion light on the front of my garage which is 20 ft up.

Depends on how much you weigh... I'm a 200+ fellow and I would trust it if it was secured properly.

First matter to be clear, this is NOT a finished roof anchor! Secondly my question to you is, what is your intention of using this roof anchor? To actually preserve a life, or the appearance of following an OSHA ordinance. The roof anchor can be placed just about anywhere. If you plan on putting it out in the middle of a sheet of plywood, you better have 32 screws. (16 for each side) I highly recommend reading local and state regulations. Personally when I use these for fall protection I put 6 screws in each side into rafters on bare plywood or roof to be torn off.

Can this be used on a standing seam metal roof?

As long as it is screwed securely according to the instructions provided. It's meant to be a temporary anchor. There are other products made for permanent anchors.
