No More Wimpy Rollabout Fans For Me!
Finally, a quiet, high-powered rollabout fan that really moves air when you need it to be done! I've just received it and still trying it in different ways with good success. Southern California has hot summer days, although this 9219 Air King is working well taking advantage of relatively cool evenings when used as a whole house fan; rolled up to an open door, with windows opened ONLY in the far side of the house, this will exhaust the warmer air and the power to pull in the cool air from the farthest open windows, through the whole house. But be ready to experiment a bit to find the best combination for your house. I like the all metal construction, especially in the tubular stand. There is room for improvement in the stand assembly instructions, which are little more than an "exploaded" diagram. Tagging the tubes with the number of the step described in expanded instructions would save time on the assembly. It costs a bit more than some other fans, seems well made and I expect it to last much longer than previous "bargain" fans!

GREAT fan for my barn!!!
I bought one fan and I liked it so much I bought another. Excellent air moving, quiet, and easy to move around. Solid, sturdy, and high quality materials and easy to assemble. They are only about 10 feet from the horses in their stalls and the horses couldn't care less- the air movement makes more noise than the fan, I think! It's been in the high 90's and the horses now prefer hanging out in the barn rather than under the shade trees. Keeps the flies away too. Definitely recommend!!

The Best Fan I Have Ever Bought.
I live in an vintage style apt. with french-door style windows and rooms that are connected by hallways. Unfortunately it has no central air and the windows aren't suitable for a window style air conditioner. We just went through a long heat wave in So. Cal and I purchased about 10 fans (including ceiling types) trying to cool my home....because of the hallways, I needed at least one or two fans in every room...even with all of these fans I didn't have much relief... My sister had some construction work done on her home and the contractor brought in a large AIR KING industrial fan and I knew I needed that type of power. I am so excited about this 9219 Air King. It is powerful enough to push air around all the corners to get to the rooms of my vintage apartment because the wheels let me angle it so that the air can be banked off of a nearby wall. It is very quiet compared to the fans I was using and give off far more relief from the heat; and it is small enough to find a location in the apt. where it doesnt look too out of place when its not needed... I love this AIR KING and only wish I'd found it sooner...

Well built in the USA, moves air like a champ but its loud
This is rated as an industrial fan - so its built like a tank. Moves air like crazy. Assembly was not bad at all. I would give it 5 stars if it were not so loud. Even on the low setting, you really hear it. We use it mostly in the downstairs hallway to blow cool air to the upstairs (you can tilt the fan so it points straight up) - it does a great job on that, even on low setting - and the noise from it sort of fades into the back of your mind after a while (white noise I guess). If you turn it up to the highest setting, it sounds like a B-52 is preparing for takeoff and you can feel it vibrating the floor. If you have it pointed at anything loose its going to be blown away by the fan. But it moves air like a champ. Get this if you want a powerful fan that will move a lot of air and you don't mind a little noise. If a very quiet fan is your desire, this will not make you happy. It is very adjustable, you can rotate the fan to any position on its stand and it screws down on the sides to hold it in position. Some other uses we have for it...putting it outside on the deck to provide a cool breeze on a hot day (its great for that), pointing it toward an open window to exhaust things out of a room, and to give you a plan B if your AC goes out - if its really hot and you have no AC, you will not care about the noise. Another plus for me is its made in the USA.

Will last for over a decade
My original exact same model lasted for well over a decade in my automotive repair shop with heavy use. Had to get the same one again as this thing just lasted way beyond my expectations. Very portable with wheels to keep the mechanics cool, while working under the hood of hot car engines! Great CFM air flow with H-Duty steel blades. Cools down a HOT engine quick and at the perfect height to blow into the vehicles grill. Wheels wore down and then out so we used a couple of old, used engine belt idler pulleys as replacements for them. Got another 6 or more years use from it before the electric motor finally died.

Loose Screws
I received the fan and got it put together. When I turned the fan on it pushed itself across the room. So it has some power. The problem was when I went to high speed. There was a terrible vibration. The whole motor was loose. I had to take it apart and tighten down the screws that hold the motor to the fan cage. There was also a screw missing. I went and got the Correct M5 screw to fix it. The whole was stripped out. I repaired it rather then send it back. After you get done assembling this, you don't want to have to take it all apart again. It dose blow quite nice.

nice quality fan
I put the stand together, fired it up, and it works very well. The motor is inaudible, all you hear is the rush of wind. Fan blades are fairly quiet too, especially given their size and the operating speeds this fan has. It's too fast on the low setting, so I'll have to use a variable AC controller to get the speed down where I need it. Whats really nice is that this fan motor is using permanently lubricated ball bearings, not the useless sleeve bearings on almost all consumer grade fans, which last about a year or two at best before they start to seize and burn up the motor. When you turn off the motor, the blades keep spinning for quite a long time, impressive - that's a well built fan motor. Even the switch on the motor has a quality feel to it. Must not be made in china, if it is, they did a good job for a change... This thing should last for years with solid use, probably a lifetime with light duty. 5 stars...
