Q: Is the $9.99 eshop ritza tiger thread legit quality? 20m is all i need. anyone recommend ideal size sewing needle for hand stitching leather gloves?

I would not use Ritza Tiger thread for gloves. Its a thick flat braid poly. Its great for things like saddles, bags, outdoor equipment, pouches but not for fine work such as glovemaking. For gloves I would want to use linen thread. You can get it at Rocky Mt Leather Supply. I also think they might carry Glovers needles (like leatherwork needles but more stabby and finer.) Anyway for the price I personally think 10 for 20m is kind of steep.

Q: How much thread do you get? Ad says 500m but reviews say quite a bit less.

Ive ordered tiger thread from a number of places. You have to read the ads carefully. Ive gotten about 30M of thread wrapped around a piece of cardboard. That fact was hidden in the ad. Ive had no problems getting a big full spool from a supply store. Ive never measured it so I dont really know. 500m is a big spool and lasts me for years. If its really 450M or so I couldnt say.
