Native Plants for Your Maine Garden Paperback – January 15, 2010

The book is full of what is probably very helpful information, but I can't get to much of it. The text next to pictures is in a long column with arrows to proceed down (instead of simple swipe), but every time I try to arrow up or down I get the menu bars instead. If I try to continue pressing the arrow I instead get sent to a different part of the book on the the progress bar at the bottom. Double clicking on the picture nicely gives me a full page version of the picture, but I can't get at a LOT of the accompanying Text. The sample gardens would have been better with small pictures of the flowers next to the names. I recommend getting the book in print form, it will be less frustrating. There is a lot of useful information, but I felt like I was being lectured over and over about invasive plants. I'm just looking for a guide to help me plant my new Maine garden.

This book contained great information and gorgeous photos, but limited itself to only two sample garden plans. For this reason I can only give four stars, I would have liked more ideas (I have never planted a flower garden before).

HAS LOTS OF PICTURES WHICH HELP TO IDENIFY PLANTS THAT YOU WANT TO PUT AROUND YOUR PROPERTY.IF YOU LIVE IN MAINE OR NEW ENGLAND THIS IS A MUST HAVE. MEL.C

This is a well written book with interesting information. Very good photos. It does not include all plants, but it has a good selection. A good reference source for Maine plants.

Good reference for those wanting to incorporate native Maine plants into their garden or build a garden based on native Maine plants.
