Nice vacuum, excellent customer service
I received the Air Pro and promptly took it out of the box and assembled it (5 minutes). I turned it on and it started running. First thing I noticed is how much quieter it was than my old vac. Then I noticed that the brush head wasn't spinning. I pushed the button to turn it on, but nothing happened. I tried lowering the handle (the brush head automatically turns off when the vac is fully upright), and nothing happened. So I called customer service. I waited on the line for about 10 minutes for someone to come on, then a gentleman answered and asked how he could help. I explained the problem and what I had tried. He had me try a few things while I was on the phone with him, but nothing worked. He then said that the vac didn't sound right from what he could hear. He then sent me an email with instructions on how to send the model label (yes, just the label, not the whole machine) back to them, and to reply to the email once I'd sent it with the tracking number. I did so. The next day I received an email that a new machine was being sent out. It arrived a few days later. I put it together and it worked perfectly. I proceeded to vacuum the family room carpet (low berber that was just vacuumed with my old vac a week before) and I was shocked at how much it picked up. By the time I finished the downstairs the dist bin was full. I emptied it and continued upstairs. Upon finishing, the bin was full again. Apparently my old vac wasn't doing much. I've used it a few times since, and it's been great. You can actually see the difference in the carpet. One minor issue -- when using the hose and attachments, if I try to pull the hose more than a few feet the vac looks like it wants to topple over. I'm guessing with more use the hose will soften up some and make this problem go away. So 4.5 stars for the machine, and 10 stars for the customer service! Nice to know a company will still stand behind their products.

Oh well, great while it lasted...also, tips on getting the best performance
It was a great machine, worked as advertised and with its steerable function, very easy to maneuver and terrific suction. Unfortunately, mine cooked its motor within three weeks of getting it. Before you ask, yes, I did read the instruction manual but one minute it was fine, the next instant for no reason, it stopped. The collection chamber had just been emptied, everything was in fine working order but it just stopped cold dead. It's being sent back to Amazon.com for a final burial and I still may order another one in the future. I had purchased this to replace a Dyson DC7 Animal which weighs slightly more than my wife's SUV. The Dyson still works perfectly but I'm getting tired of wrestling that polar bear. Hoover basically took all the high points from the Dyson ball and made a lighter, smaller, and less expensive version. And actually, did a very nice job as well. It takes a little learning period to steer the Hoover but in short order, it will feel very natural and light in the handle. Since it is light and comfortable, I find that you actually get through the vacuuming process a little bit quicker and more efficiently. Here are the secrets to success. I've read a lot of reviews on this unit and many if not most of the problems can be solved by very important and enlightening information that is hidden from most people in this thing called, "The Instructions". There are two very important things to keep in mind when using this Hoover vac on floors. #1: Am I using this on a hardwood, linoleum, or tiled floor? If the answer is yes, turn the dial located half way up on the right side to "Floor" AND right next to the on/off switch, there is a smaller button that turns off the spinning of the brush. Once you have turned the dial and pushed the button you're ready to vacuum a non carpeted surface floor. #2: Am I using this on a carpeted surface? If the answer is yes to this question and you had been on the hardwood floor but are now moving to that nice wall-to-wall, you need to go to that little button next to the on/off switch and turn it on to get the brush to rotate. When it comes on, it sounds a little like an A-10Thunderbolt II taking off but not as loud. The brush Will Not Spin until the unit is tilted as if you're ready to vacuum. Bonus Tip: I've seen a number of reviews that say the unit's suction is so strong, they can't move the vac across the carpet. This may sound like voodoo/magic but...if you go back to the "Tools/Floor" dial, you can turn the dial a little at a time towards the "Tools" setting. The function of the dial basically is to switch suction from hose to floor and back. Turning the dial a little towards the "Tools" relieves a little of the suction and allows you to move the unit across the carpet. I turned the dial until I was able to move the unit, just experiment and you'll find that zone. This suction-relief is nothing new, my Mom's Kirby Vacuum from the '60's had a little dial switch near the base that did the same and even my Dyson has that adjustment for vacuum pressure on the end of the handle. It's just simple physics. Bottom line: It's a good unit, well thought out in design and works very well once you know what you're doing. I would like to think that my unit was just an exception and a bad motor will surface from time to time regardless of brand. I think all of its features are well thought out but I wish there was a place to keep both the crevice tool and the pet hair tool both on the unit at once. The steerable feature will be greatly appreciated by your back and shoulder. If I had a hand in the design, I would make the collection chamber a little bigger for more capacity, that's why Dyson's units look a little less streamlined and bulky. I would also add more ventilation in the motor housing area, it gets pretty warm. Finally, since we're now in the age of LED lights, add a few to the front of the unit, they will last twenty years, use little to no electricity and can tap into the main circuit board located at the very bottom of the vacuum. It would have gotten 5 stars but when an electronic appliance dies on me, then the max-stars thing is off the table.

Absolutely love this vacuum.
I rarely write product reviews (probably done three in my lifetime), but when I find something that works spectacularly, I'll gladly let others know. This vacuum was purchased to replace an older Eureka upright bag vacuum that I have used for the past five years. I brought it along when I moved into a new place a year ago and it seemed to be doing a pretty decent job (or so I thought). I had noticed that over the past month or two it seemed to be fading, so I decided to purchase this Hoover WindTunnel. Despite some of the negative comments, I can say that I am thoroughly impressed. The first room I vacuumed (15'x17' Living Room) resulted in the cup being almost filled to the 'Full' line with dirt and cat hair...as I've gone from room to room, it's been the same story (even rooms I rarely if ever go into). My carpets now look as good as they did on day one and I am thrilled to know they are being thoroughly cleaned by this vacuum. There are only two small issues to note. As others have stated, when moving onto a smooth floor, it will suck right down and create a seal so strong that you can't move it (I'm 6'1", 215 lbs, and workout regularly)..it's actually quite impressive how much suction this thing has. Nevertheless, it's a simple fix, just rotate the selector dial towards 'Hose' a tiny and it reduces the suction slightly...problem fixed. FYI, there's still plenty of suction to pull up anything off of the floor. The other minor thing is that there is nothing to hold the additional tool that comes with this model...not a show stopper. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this purchase and am glad I didn't let the negative comments keep me from buying it. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a new vacuum cleaner.

Pésimo servicio de post venta. LLeva 2 meses en reparación de garantía mi aspiradora, porque no llega una pieza. No deberían vender un producto si no están seguros de tener las refacciones necesarias.

This is the first vacuum I’ve owned that I didn’t buy for the cheapest price possible at Walmart. The earth shattering power was startling at first as it began sucking up the floor boards and swallowing up entire chunks of the foundation of our house. That was before I discovered the power brush feature, which, when turned on tears a hole in the space time continuum opening a portal to other worlds. Also, great looking design.

Purchased in Dec 2016 now July 2017 the suction is not working only the front brush rotates. It worked fine the past 7 months for my home use about once a week. Thus find it to be a bit delicate for the job.

So far I'm very pleased with this vac. It's suction power seems more than adequate and the easy cleaning of the canister is a "snap", literally. Never had a Dyson, so I can't compare, however, for almost a third of the price, I can't complain. I'd definitely recommend it, but do remember, it is an upright vacuum, which is a bit more cumbersome to use than a regular vac., for example, vacuuming under a bed.

Great suction power. As other reviewers have stated, you have to use the knob to control the suction on carpets. Easy to clean. Overall, great product
