My 2015 MacBook has two thunderbolt ports as all as one HDMI - however I like using this cable instead of HDMI as it’s much more flexible. Video quality is also great although not sure if it’s any different/better than HDMI.

Great Adapter for Laptops With Only Mini-DP Out
Passes multi-channel audio and 2160p/60hz video no problem if your onboard display port has those capabilities. The connections are neither too loose or too tight and they will stay in place, even hanging - though this may strain your ports depending on how they are mounted.

This short adapter cord works as advertised. I use it to connect my PC that comes with a Mini Display Port to a monitor. I use a regular HDMI cable to connect from this adapter to the monitor itself.
