How do I use this to change my voice on a telephone call?

You would have to run it into a amp or pc to get the sound

Thank you for the question. The VT-4 has a 'Strobo' effect setting, which is a kind of extreme vibrato where the sound ducks in and out. However, if you are looking for a more traditional vocal vibrato sound you could also check out the Boss VE-500 which has this effect built in. Thank you.

Can this be connected to a roland mx-1 mixer as a usb input and for the mx-1 to be used as it’s power source instead of batteries?

It says it is also usb powered. You have to hold down the vocoder button to turn on the USB power
