Stainless beats brass for me
Better quality and price than brass, and better corrosion resistance to the ground water in my point well sprinkler system. The stainless will not develop pin holes like the brass from dezincification. But the harder metal takes more care with thread sealant to get a leakproof seal.

Well made, good fit
I purchased a large reverse osmosis pressure tank to greatly increase my system capacity. The tank came without a valve. The separately purchased shut-off ball-valve came with a right-angle fitting and a very short (1/4-inch?) connector. The tank has a nice base that would accommodate the valve underneath the tank, thereby saving the added height of having the valve on top. The tank will operate in any position but having the compressed air bladder on top and the water and valve on the bottom works with gravity, rather than against it. Also, a bottom-heavy tank is more stable than a top-heavy one. Problem: the full tank weighs about 100 pounds and operating the valve under the center of the tank would be inconvenient, to say the least. I used the 6-inch stainless-steel pipe to replace the short connector, in order to place the shut-off valve to the side of the tank bottom, just outside of the base, for easy, convenient access. I used 4 wraps of plumber's Teflon tape on each end of the stainless-steel pipe before threading it into the tank fitting at one end and the shut-off valve at the other end. It works perfectly with no leaks. The pipe shipped to my Amazon locker, which I like because it eliminates concern about porch-pirates.

I've bought these pipe fittings for future use to be screwed into a chrysler smallblock oil gallery, and, the thread is the correct thread that I will tap into the block, I'll also weld a AN- 10 fitting to one end, I've already performed this adaption before, so, I know it works, this is to relocate the oil filter away from the block,
