Wasabi Power Battery for GoPro HD HERO2, GoPro Original HD HERO and GoPro AHDBT-001, AHDBT-002

I bought an as-is GoPro camera without a battery (or cover!?) on the cheap for a project, and needed a battery. This Wasabi battery was extremely cheap, and had good reviews so I thought, "Why not?" Why not indeed! This battery works just as well as the original's replacement IMO, as the battery has served me several weeks of light use, including the use of the back-screen attachment. To keep the battery in place without a cover, I merely use a rubber band. While looking extremely ghetto, I can enjoy the use of a GoPro for less than the price of eating out. This battery would be good to keep as an extra if you go out for an extrended trip with no way to recharge your batteries. Honestly for the price, you should at least keep one of these as a spare!

Like many people I love my GoPro but get frustrated all the time with both the life of the OEM battery AND the tight fit of the thing in the camera - it takes an age to get it out without digging fingernails into the side of the battery. I purchased the Wasabi charger and Li-ion rechargeable batteries (and ordered an extra battery too) and life is now much better. The battery lasts quite a bit longer (1400mAh as opposed to 1100 on the OEM) and it is a great fit - just a bit looser than the original GoPro so pops in and out snugly without being limpet tight. The only criticism I have is that I now have multiple Wasabi chargers for different types of battery - would be great if they did adapters that could be switched out of the charger for each battery types. Thoroughly recommended!

Perfect exactly what I ordered

Bought for a working Hero2 camera so I’d have more batteries for a big overseas trip. They looked fine and charged fine but were incompatible with the camera. While OEM batteries worked fine, getting the camera to power on, cycle through different modes and start/stop filming was sporadic/inconsistent when using the Wasabi replacement batteries. After lots of button pushing trying to get the camera to work the camera would just turn off and I’d have to wait until my OEm batteries recharged.

Bought 10 of these for a trip, about 8 worked. Cheap tho.
