Sabrent CR-CSDM: low key vibes with serious speed
Can I pull you for a chat, and tell you where my head's at with all the SD card readers I've explored. I've been gutted by a load of other SD card readers, and honestly? Most SD card readers are messy. No cap. Then, I coupled with the Sabrent USB Type-C Dual-Slot UHS-II SD 4.0 (CR-CSDM), and from the rip it was my type on paper. Not gonna lie, when this bombshell entered the villa, it gave sleek, functional, fast vibes. Straight fire. No cap!I've clearly binged too much "Love Island" with my teenager. But no games, the Sabrent CR-CSDM is a card reader with actual riz. Performance TestedI ran all the benchmark tests: CrystalDiskMark (sequential PC), AmorphousDiskMark (sequential Mac), BlackMagicDesign (random Mac). Sabrent claims support up to 312MB per second, and it came through. With my Lexar Silver Pro UHS-II card (rated 280MB Read, 160MB Write), the Sabrent pulled off 259.17MB/s Read, 164.98MB/s Write in CrystalDiskMark. It also performed consistently good using AmorphousDiskMark (253.16MB/s Read, 110.57MB/s Write), and BlackMagic (213.90MB/s Read, 120.5MB/s Write). In plain English? The Sabrent CR-CSDM moves mad fast and never left me waiting around.Intelligent Design & FunctionalityBeyond speed, the design is proper fit. It’s an aluminum build with a clean, minimal vibe, and a 6" integrated cable that makes it plug & play straight out the box. There’s a low key LED indicator so you know it’s working, but it’s not flashy or annoying. Best of all, the SD and microSD slots both face the same direction. I can’t even explain how satisfying that is until you’ve dealt with one that doesn’t. It’s the little things, yeah?CompactnessIt's a tiny thing, measuring just 2" x 1.4" x 0.5" thin. Turned on its side, this compact form-factor sits discreetly against my Mac mini, just quietly doing the job better than anything else I’ve tried.ConclusionSo here’s the deal. The Sabrent CR-CSDM checks every box. It’s UHS-II rated with SD 4.0 support, which means it actually takes advantage of the speed potential in my SDXC cards and Thunderbolt ports. The aluminum housing keeps it cool, the performance is elite, and the price is more than fair for what you're getting. For 100% transparency, I wasn't paid or sponsored in any way for this review. I've just been disappointed by so many other card readers. But this Sabrent? My head got turned fast, and I’m closed off now. Fully loyal.

No Issues
Worked fine, but it turned out that I did not need it for my current trip. Versatile and helpful. Worked fine with SD cards. Good value. Easy to connect. Seemed solidly built. Read cards a quickly and accurately. USB port worked.

Saved me a lot of time on cell phone data transfer
It was time for me to finally upgrade my ancient 64gb micro sd card that had traveled many a cell phone over the years. I bought a new card with considerably more memory and then this guy in hopes that I could just plug it into my phone and transfer data from the old card straight to the new card. That way I didn't have to go back and forth loading one card and unloading the other to then reload it onto the new one. This worked like a charm, the card I bought is a high write speed and as far as I could tell this device didn't slow it down at all. I took the old SD card out of the phone, put the new one in, plugged this into the phone with the old SD card in it and in (probably) less than a half hour (I take a lot of pictures and videos) I had all my old folders and files over. Can't ask for much more.

Side-mount design can be limiting.
Functions as advertised - both USB-C and USB A ports work. You can use two SD cards at once.Fit/design: side-mounted slots block other ports of my hub when in use. Build quality seems OK, but with the cards sticking out as they do, I fear I might break something some day. The inserted SD card is physically touching my Amazon Basics reader. :-(Overall, it is a good value.

Solid Card Reader
The SABRENT USB Type-C Card Reader does exactly what it’s supposed to—reads UHS-II SDXC and microSDXC cards quickly and reliably. For the price, it's definitely worth it.Pros:✅ Works as Intended: No issues with speed or compatibility.✅ Affordable: Solid value for a UHS-II card reader.✅ Compact Design: Easy to toss in a bag for travel.Cons:❌ Non-Detachable USB Cable: Would have preferred a removable cable for easier storage and replacement if needed.Final Thoughts:If you need a reliable, budget-friendly UHS-II card reader, this is a great option. Just keep in mind that the built-in cable might be a drawback for some. Otherwise, great performance for the price! 💾🚀
