Ilsa Gas Ring Reducer, 4.75-Inch, Cast Iron, Black

I like using a Moka Pot to make coffee on the gas stove but I couldn't get it to sit right over the flame on our stove, this adapter fits perfectly and I can now use a low flame and have the Moka Pot exactly over the center.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Without this tool it’s very difficult to simmer rice on a my propane gas cooktop. The flame is too hot and always heats the water too high. Now I can cook rice without it sticking to the bottom of the pan or boiling over!

This has made a huge difference for me. I use this whether I make a grilled cheese sandwich or make spaghetti sauce. No more scorched pans.

This solid surface diffuser was made in Italy, the bottom is rough while the top is glossy smooth. Other reviewers have indicated the smooth side is slippery for pots and pans, they were right! It certainly is, which is why I've rated this a 4 rather than a 5 star item. Additionally, a skillet doesn't work well on this diffuser as the weight of the handle puts it off-balance, causing a precarious situation. I would certainly recommend it for a pot that just sits without stirring, but care should be exercised when stirring or if using a skillet.

For those of us that have gas stoves, some of the grates can be a challenge for certain items. For me, the challenge was using my stove top Italian espresso maker. If I didn’t place it just right, it would tip over. Annoying to say the least.Stumbled across this listing and ordered it. Placed it on my stove and voilà, no more tipped coffee maker. Fit was perfect and I hardly notice it. Almost looks like it belongs too. I imagine it might not fit everyone’s stove but it was worth the chance and fit my Frigidaire perfectly.Side note. I did purchase one for my friend as surprise and it didn’t work out. It did fit but it wasn’t enough size to cover her needed pan. Imagine everyone’s needs can vary.

Our in-camper gas stove top low setting is still too high to simmer. Will be ordering another in a larger size to accommodate our larger pots as any "hanger" over will boil.

Just the perfect size for our old glass Pyrex coffee pot. We have struggled so many times with the pot tipping over. This seems to be much more stable.
