Make sure you pay attention to the size when ordering --- but nice product!!
Make sure to pay attention to the size when you are ordering. I have a small dog, so the size I got works for her. But even though I KNEW the size, when I got it...I was still a little shocked that it looked so little. With that being said, I think that it's going to work well. It is exactly as pictured. My dog was a little hesitant at first about the grass, but I put her pee pad right next to it and a couple hours later she got on the grass and went poo. I was tickled and gave her lots of praise. Hope this will work better than just the pee pads - because my cat feels the need to try and "cover" the pads and then the dog can't use them...LOL (Animals...gotta love them!)

My dog took right to it
I have a small chihuahua mix and live in Colorado so there are many months out of the year when he and the weather just don't mix. He has very little fur, especially on his tummy, and there's only so much I can dress him up. So, I decided to try this to give him a spot inside to do his business. I had tried puppy pads before, but he didn't always take to them. This seemed much more natural to him. Now, I put the puppy pads next to it and he likes to poop on the fake grass and pee on the pads, which actually works out better because I don't have to clean the turf as much. If your puppy pees on it, you will want to clean it at least once a week (depending on the size of your dog), but I haven't noticed any smell coming from it at all. I actually put a puppy pad under the turf itself to absorb the urine because the puppy pads have deodorizers in them. There is a tray under the turf that is supposed to funnel it down and others have suggested putting the pad under the tray, but since my dog pees so little, the amount would just sit in the middle tray and very little would go through it. Now, I just change the pad every few days and it all seems to be much cleaner.I think the pads work better for him peeing because they are scented and he seems to look for that (maybe because they are prone to marking). However, he was so used to going to the bathroom outside that he understood the use for the turf and started pooping on that right away.I've only had this for a few months and so far it seems to be holding up great, but that's probably because he doesn't use it for everything. If I have to replace this once or twice a year, that is perfectly fine because at least now I know that if I have to stay late at work, my little guy won't have to hold it or have any accidents. Or, he won't have to go out during a blizzard.

Cheap
I ordered two of these and they aren't even matching. One had a black tray and a pad under the turf and the other had a grey tray on no pad, cheaper turf as well. They're very small as well. Luckily I have a small breed.

Dont bother
I had high hopes for this product. We recently rescued a 2 month old miniature pinscher that had been starved, physically abused, and that had been left out so long that she had frostbite. Living in the midwest, there's no way we were going to start sending her outside to do her business until after she puts on some weight and heals from the frostbite, so we started out with puppy pads all over the house, which looks terrible. I thought that this product would be a great way to make her set up more fashionable.Unfortunately, this product did not live up to my hopes. We had no problem with getting her to use it - in fact, she used it right away. We even put the puppy pad under the grass to make clean-up easier. However, a few things went terribly wrong. First of all, the grass is absorbent. That doesn't sound like a bad thing, but that means that when we washed it after use, it stayed wet until the next time. Not to mention, as we picked up the grass to clean it, it dripped pee that it had absorbed. The one time that she used it twice before we had a chance to clean it, her little paws were damp with her own urine from the precious use. Sure, it looked nice, but it was already way more work to upkeep than a pad (which just requires folding up, throwing away, and throwing a new one down). The second problem that we had was with the smell. As I already pointed out, we were in the habit of cleaning it after each use, so it wasn't just sitting around soaking. But, after about three days, it had such a strong smell of stale urine that our company commented on it and moved to a further seat. I was mortified, especially considering that we had been washing it obsessively. That was when I finally decided that I would look into other options, and this thing went in the trash.Tl/Dr - Grass drips urine when cleaning, gets water/urine on puppy's paws, and smelled bad enough (even after cleaning) that we couldn't stand it and threw it away.

Keep it outside or train your dog to not play with it
My puppy used to accidentally pee at home but since I got this grass he never peed home. Of course he got excited about grass and used to play which wasn’t fun for me so I kept it on the balcony. Now my puppy stays next to the balcony door whenever he wants to pee. I love this product so much it’s easy to clean and my balcony is clean from dog pees. Only thing if you keep the grass indoor you need to train your pet to not play with it.

Probably not ideal for young puppies who are teething.
This grass pad is likely better for training older (non-teething) dogs. I bought this to help potty train my 3-month puppy since she's not fully vaccinated and can't go outside on the public grass. While she understands to use it, she's much more interested in eating the fake grass (which comes off very easily, even if you're just moving it around) and lifting up the top layer (which takes little effort because it's not held down securely at all). I ended up going back to using potty pads + a pad holder so this purchase was a bit of a waste, and by the time she's old enough to use this, she'll have her shots and I'll be able to take her outside to real grass.
