The E Series jazz shoe from Capezio features a soft and flexible leather upper that molds perfectly to your little one's foot. Stretch fabric surrounds the arch for support and custom fitting. The split sole includes a textured design that offers traction on any surface. The perfect basic for your new dancer. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

Was sent a cheap knockoff!
Buyer beware. Capezio shoes are great, but what I got was NOT Capezio. I got some knockoff brand "Alexandra." They are cheap vinyl and will be returned immediately, and now I have to make a special trip to get shoes for a team picture tomorrow. If you get shoes and the look like this, send them back!!!

Fantastic, and true to size!
My daughter received these dangerously close to the first competition of the season and after reading reviews I was terrified they’d be tiny. Our local dance supply store is very hit or miss. I had ordered a half size up from her regular shoe size just to be safe. They arrived and fit great with just a smiiiiidge of room to grow. I think a lot of people think dance shoes should have room to grow but they really should be worn snug. The materials loosen over time as well. I’d say these fit true to size and I’m glad I didn’t size up several sizes as suggested because they wouldn’t have fit correctly.I ended up at the dance supply store a few days later to get my other daughter new ballet shoes. They notoriously size up and it drives our studio owner crazy! However, they did tell me something interesting. My older daughter is a 2.5 in a street shoe. They said they always go right into a women’s 4 once kids get past a size 2. I’m not sure the reasoning behind it but maybe that’s why so many people recommended sizing up two sizes? My daughter ended up with a women’s size 4 ballet shoe and they fit snug with no room to grow.

CAPEZIO SIZING STINKS, RUN AT LEAST 2 or 3 SIZES SMALL
I love Capezios. Trying to figure out sizing without trying on is difficult. I purchased 2 sizes. Neither came close to a decent fit. I could have lived with close enough.I am attaching pictures of the 13w and 1w Capezios beside a size 11 shoe from Walmart and a ruler.I thought perhaps a wide width might compensate for some other sizing issues. Nope. She needs a regular width.Prices increased, so I purchased Dance Class size 12 and 13. The Dance Class 12 was snug on her 10.5 size foot. A good dance fit, but no growth room. The Dance Class 13 is big on her. I kept the Dance Class 13.The Capezio tap shoes with a tie run close to being true to size.Capezio sizing is NOT uniform.

One size up from street shoe size fit perfectly!
My daughter is a street shoe size 9 but has a very narrow foot and tiny ankles. We have a very difficult time each year even finding sandals that don’t fall off her feet. So, although most reviewers suggested to size up 2-3 sizes from street shoe size, we started with 1 size up and 1.5 sizes up. The 10m fit her great. Her toes are at the end but from what I understand they stretch up to a full size with wear. They fit her great around the ankles and do not fall off. The size 10.5 only gave her a teensy bit more room at the end but were very big around her ankles. So, for petite girls, try sizing up just 1-1.5 sizes up at first! She says they are comfortable and the leather is great quality. We love Capezio!

They REALLY do run small, trust the majority reviews!
After reading the reviews and racing against the clock to get these shoes ordered, I went with the majority's reviews on these shoes being small and took their advice and ordered larger. My daughter wears a size12.5 to a size 13 (she has room to grow in 13's). I ordered a size 1.5 wide and the fit was PERFECT!! I was a happy camper, as I needed the shoes the next day. They are very nicely made and my daughter loves them!!

Run VERY SMALL
These run VERY small. My daughter is a size 2 kids. I usually buy one size up when I buy Pay less dance shoes. Pay less didn't have her size so I ordered these in a size 3. They are smaller than the Pay less size 2. I had to return them. Her recital was quickly approaching so I had to go to the dance store to buy. Exact same shoe that I ordered on Amazon but in a size 5. So if you are going to order these, believe what you read and order 3 sizes bigger than your daughter's shoe size. I know it sounds ridiculous but it's true. Other than the size issue, they are a very nice shoe.

Great quality at a good price
These are great jazz shoes for class. The fit is just right, with the toe box not being too tight. These also have a little bit of stretch to help get the shoe on easily. Shoes are also made of high quality materials and have lasted just about a year with no issues or breaking down of materials.
