This product helps me tremendously with my moods and helps me to stay even keel. I take it everyday before I leave for work.

Pills are a little large; easy for me to swallow, but I can dry swallow so it might be difficult for others. This product changed my life with regards to depression, and I can always tell within 3 hours of my day starting whether I remembered to take my meds that morning. * * * A note of caution: (I am not a doctor but I’ve done some research that I encourage you to confirm) while 5-HTP is a precursor to Serotonin, there is no mechanism in place to encourage conversion only in the brain, and long-term excess in the body often leads to heart problems. Of course, too much in the brain can lead to Serotonin Syndrome. It seems to be recommended one either takes 5-HTP with Green Tea Extract (which can be heavy on the liver but significantly decreases the amount of serotonin in the body) or just L-Tryptophan (which does have a mechanism in place that restricts serotonin-conversion to within the brain). Also consider not taking this item with other serotonin-focused meds such as SSRIs. Of course, I am not a doctor and recommend speaking to yours before making any changes like these.

Have taken 5HTP for several years. Lately had to increase dose to 400mg daily. Dosage might vary for you. 100-200mg is usually recommended, but some MD's say you can go higher. Your effective dosage may vary by product. For me, I do well at 400mg with this one. Sleep has improved a lot, and mood feels brighter. Am post-menopausal, Lyme survivor, and sleep and mood have been an issue for years due to hormone imbalance, which I think was caused by Lyme disease which went untreated for years. Still waking up at night, but it's really easy to fall asleep again. And sleeping wonderfully in the last four hours of the nightly. Feel rested when awakening. That's really great. Had unrefreshing sleep for 26 years.

A reasonably priced supplement of 5htp. Hard to quantify it’s effects, however a worthy supplement to add to your stack when you’re mood isn’t optimal.
