Great Quality and Adjustability for Price
No one should be surprised if a chair ordered online does not perfectly fit their body as some reviewers complain (and therefore I discount those reviews). After all, chairs should be tried in a physical store. Grounded by COVID-19, I didn't have a choice when replacing my old and too-soft fabric chair. With lots of time on my hands, I spent hours researching task chairs for long computer work. With lower back issues, an adjustable lumbar support was essential, along with height and width adjustable arm rests. I am 6'1", so a gliding seat that could be moved forward to support my legs was also important. I also wanted a chair where the seat could be adjusted higher than 19". At my height, a standard chair can put my arms too far below my below-desk mounted keyboard tray. I also know that the firmness of a new chair will change over time with use. A new soft cushion would only get softer and more uncomfortable. I gravitated to the Hon brand because it is a well-established company that has sold office furniture for decades. I was also reluctant to buy a no-name brand chair from an unknown third party seller. This chair fits the bill. With an adjustable lumbar support, gliding seat, adjustable height and width arms, full swivel, and adjustable back tilt, it's a bargain at this price. The build quality is very high and it was easy to assemble. I think it's particularly good for taller people who want adjustments to get more leg support and seat height than usual. And yes, the fabric seat is firm out of the box but I actually think that this contributes to long-term comfort like high-end car seats do. I'm confident it will soften a bit over time. Another option would be the leather seat, but I can't speak to how it would feel. Yes, you can get a better chair for a lot more money, but I think the Hon Exposure is a great combination of price, quality and flexibility.

Tough as a rock, mostly more comfortable than one
I just assembled this chair today and my initial impressions are this: it feels incredibly sturdy but lacks refinement towards comfort. For the record this is the 4th home office chair I've had in almost 15 years and I'm 6'0, 185 lbs. Assembly was easy, 15-20 minutes for 1 able-bodied person. Attaching the back was the trickiest part. Once you have the rest of it assembled, I'd recommend putting the seat on a table or bed and lean it forward to properly attach the back, then finish by placing it in the wheel-base (as indicated in the instructions). The seat is thick and very firm yet oddly comfortable to me, probably because my old chair has basically worn down to a metal frame where there was once a cushion. The armrests are "cushioned" but very densely so. Leaning on them for more than a couple minutes seems like a bad idea (for your elbows) but you can definitely push yourself off the chair using the armrests without a problem. The chair's height measured from top of the seat cushion to the floor tops out at about 23 and 1/2 inches and bottoms out at about 18 and 1/2 inches, so it's definitely better for long-legged people overall (the max height seems comical to me). I think the biggest problem might be the back of the chair. You can't really adjust it, although you can move the seat forward and backward which does slightly adjust how the back feels. I think this chair would benefit from a head rest but there's no option to add one. My old chair had a head rest so I likely just need time to adjust. I'm not sure what the lumbar support is supposed to be doing but it mostly just sits there and I don't feel it at all. I'll likely update this review as I settle in, but so far it feels like a 4 out of 5.

Functional and comfortable for hours every day.
I have a similar chair at work also made by HON that I've been using for two years (5 stars for that one too). When the office chair I was using at home started falling apart, I decided I wanted the same chair I have at work at home. Unfortunately that particular chair costs over $400. After some research I found this one at a much better price and decided to give it a try. It's every bit as good as the high priced model, nearly exactly the same except for a lower weight rating (no problem for me). Between the two chairs I spend between 9 and 12 hours sitting every day. This one is comfortable, has adjustments for height, tension, arm rest height and width, and lumbar support. The material is comfortable and seems high quality. I'm confident that the chair will last long enough to price effective even compared to much cheaper options. The only complaint I have is that there is no locking mechanism for the arm rest horizontal adjustment. They are constantly sliding back and forth. However I don't really have any comfort issue with them all the way in or out, so it's not a big deal.

I saw other reviews that mentioned that the seat was hard, the chair was noisy, and the chair was tall. My seat is soft and comfortable. My chair doesn't creak or squeak. It is very tall though. I am 5'10" and at the lowest height my barefeet are flat on the ground. I wouldn't recommend this chair if you are shorter than 5'8". Overall, for me this is a great chair. Highly recommend.
