Hitbox 250 Bargain
Bought this welder to help complete several vintage vehicle restorations. I've owned and used arc and acetylene welders from time to time for many years. Nee7d the MIG mainly to weld some body panels without warping due to excess heat created by other welding processes. Later I will use TIG to weld stainless railing for my boat. After about 10 minutes of experimenting with flux core MIG I was laying down some decent test welds. Just received the TIG Torch yesterday. Appears to be high quality. UPDATE: Last several weeks I've been putting the MIG Flux Core option to the test with multiple automotive sheet metal parts repair and replacements. This welder is performing excellent! Although TIG is recommended for sheet metal welding I found MIG does very well and it is commonly used. Stagger Welding Method avoids warpage. Lots of body parts are Spot Welded. After drilling out the spot welds during the removal process I drill holes in the new parts where spot welds belong. Next I spot in with the MIG using moderate heat and bump up the feed. I have a Spot Welder as well but most areas I need to spot weld are not reachable with the Spot Welder.

Impressive performance!
Arrived well packaged, mig torch/liner/ground clamp, wire feed wheel packed in separate box within the mail box. Easy to assemble, no mig wire supplied. Instructions are detailed, but nothing really useful like a lookup table for voltage/current/wire speed for metal thickness which I am used to seeing within the wire spool/ wire feed compartment lid. Anyway the performance is outstanding using 75/25 shield gas and Lincoln SuperArc solid 0.030 wire. After playing around with some coupons of 22/20 gauge I dialed it in to 17V and 9.0 Metres/Min and left it on the fancy Synergy automatic adjustment. Lays stacks of dimes all day without issue, gun is good for long periods of use. It out the several Mig welders I've had over the years (Lincoln, Miller, ESAB, and Hazard Frought) has been the least 'painful' to get working satisfactorily. It's possibly a function of it being an inverter type with 'smart' control? But whatever it suits me perfectly! Would recommend for my usage, namely solid wire and gas. Haven't tried flux core, nor stick, nor lift tig yet, but I doubt I'll use it for anything other than what I am using it for.

Came dented and a few loose screws rattling loose.
Got the item the other day damaged with a dent and a lot of loose items rolling around. I tilted the machine till all the loose items fell out. Turns out 5 screws came rolling out behind the metal wall that holds the wire roller. Kind of afraid to operate it. Pics attached. Seems to have neen shipped dented as the inner and outside box seems to be new and undamaged. They seem to be responsive to my request for a return but decided to wait for my adapter to test it to see if the machine works. Manual is as light and informative as a fortune cookie message. Update: Returned old unworking unit for a new machine. It had a slight dent on the face and makes me wonder how they treat these things at the factory, since the box looks in good condition. -New unit works very well and easy to use. I tested the Flux Core option and the wire feeding motor seems very solid. Changed my rating from a 1 star to 4 star based on value and for the various welding options. Great buy. The customer support was very helpful and responsive to help me trouble shoot the first broken unit, and got the unit I wanted. UPDATE 10/03/2019 Never welded before and 80% done on my trailer build. SEE TRAILER PICS. First welds were ugly grape clusters but once tuned in the machine, I was dropping dimes on my welds. Geat machine. Recommend Vulcan flux core wire works better on the machine than the Lincoln wires. Lincoln wires are terrible and the machine does not operate very well with it after several spools. Here is the adapter I ordered to fit my 220 amp four prong outlet large oven appliance outlet. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00I4YX02E?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image

TOTAL CRAP - DO NOT BUY
1. It arrived in terrible condition 2. the dials & digital display do NOT work.. it just displays 60.2 - 60.4 amps & 00.0 volts 3. it is inconsistent. 4. internal wire to the power switch were off when it arrived 5. Item arrived looking like it was pre-used/damaged 6. its rated at 220v 50amps and has a 220v 50amp plug.. but comes with a 30amp power cord. 7. Mig torch is 3m long.. but ground cable is only 4' long and electrode holder is 5' long 8. Have been unable to get thru to customer support thus far.

Excellent welder. Nice that it works on 110v and 220v. On Synergy mode you set the amperage and it automatically sets the volts and wire speed. Only drawback I found is the ground cable is a little short and there is no knurled wire feed roller for flux core wire.Very compact and light weight. Photo is of weld done on 100 amps with .030 flux core wire.

Very easy to setup , the arc welding side is much better than the mig, I found the side mig welding to be a pain sometimes because the wire tends to jam not sure if its cause by the spring in head or what but otherwise from that small problem she works really
