Fun
This card set is pretty decent purchase for someone new to the Lenormand system. The book offers more detailed meaning on one page and then on the other a fairy tale to accompany the card. Book also offers quick yes/no reading couple of different spreads. One the cards themselves are more word prompts about the meaning of the card. Each card is very colorful and cute on waxy, flexible card stock.I really enjoyed this set and think it's suitable for someone younger or a adult newbie to the system. When you find an easy connection to the cards...it makes learning so much for fun.

These are very aesthetically pleasing, thinner & shiny cards but so cute. Very easy to read & clients like them.

Excellent :)
Nice pictures. This deck is a lenormand deck. A very good tool to learn and get familiar with the meaning of each card. :) I'm using this for actual readings. Very good results so far :)

Love these cards!
Whimsical, cute, and fun cards. I love the simplistic and colorful art work. While I prefer cards with no words, these card work well as they give a base description of each card's meaning. Shuffling can be a little tricky due to the very large size of the cards. A great starter deck for the newbie Lenormand reader.

they are easy to shuffle
This is a very cute Lenormand deck. The cards have meanings written on them and although the cards are large, they are easy to shuffle. There are a few things that make this different from most Lenormand decks. First, the numbers aren't written on the cards. Second, the Man and the Lady cards don't have an image of a man and woman; they have masculine and feminine designs on them. Finally, they don't have the associated playing cards on them. Still, I am very pleased with this deck and I believe it will become one of my favorites!

Used these for a kids party so I took out ...
Used these for a kids party so I took out some of the more scary or negative sounding cards. I looked over the instructions briefly, but didn't memorize them and didn't want to read the coordinating stories for each card out of the booklet, so when it came to interpreting them I put my own spin on them. One kid saw a bunny on a card and assumed that meant they would get a pet bunny-ooops. ;-) Since my lack of psychic powers kept me from knowing whether this child's parents would allow them to have a pet bunny I told them that before they turned 99, they would own a bunny, but it might not be until they were 70 or 80, or all grown up and living on their own. The child seemed okay with that and when I saw the parent later told them my 'interpretation' so that they wouldn't think some lady in a costume promised their child they could have a rabbit. The fairy tales used aren't your basic Cinderella and Snow White tales, but that's okay.

fun and easy to use
These are awesome. Ordered them for my daughter's b-day party as an activity and am so glad. They are fun and easy to decipher. Highly recommend. I am not a true tarrot card reader so for the serious person these may not be what you are looking for, all I know is that I enjoy them.

Based on Lenormand
I do like them. However, these are not new, it's basically a Lenormand deck with a guide. If you have a Lenormand deck, it's just another one.

Lovely Set!
I have been wanting to learn lenormand for a while now (this is actually the 4th lenormand deck I've bought). This is such a lovely set. The art is simple, bright, and bold. The book is full of information, details, and is just as colorful as the deck. The key words on the cards have really made it approachable (from my beginner's perspective). The cards are large for lenormand cards (my other decks all have quite small cards, more like a playing card size but these are like an oracle deck size but not unmanageable). The cardstock isn't wonderful, which is probably it's biggest downfall for me, but the thought that went into this set as a whole overshadows the cardstock for me so I still give it a 5 star rating.

A treasure chest of fairy tales and cartomancy
This is a wonderful deck and book set, well-conceived, beautifully written and illustrated with wit and panache. Print and production quality are excellent, the cards and full colour paperback guidebook being housed within a solid `cigar' style box with a lift off lid.The deck itself is based on the `Petit Lenormand' style of fortune telling but Liz Dean and Bev Speight breathe contemporary air into a long established method of card reading.Unlike the multi-layered images of the Tarot, Lenormand cards show more straightforward images, often containing only a single element. It can be difficult therefore to write about these cards in a way that brings them to life. User manuals can feel dry and clinical, often emphasising formulas and card combinations where reading techniques are concerned.By contrast, this set feels more human, mainly because each card image is linked to a relevant fairy tale. As a result, you come away with a real sense of `why' the individual cards mean what they do. Fairy tales, like myths function at the deepest levels of the human psyche, often revealing our hopes, fears and fantasies. The characters and elements within these tales are truly archetypal. That said the book isn't short on solid practical technique either. Liz Dean outlines six different ways to lay out the cards ranging from a simple three-card reading to get you started, right up to a more complex technique employing all thirty six cards. Her methods are sound and are based on a combination of traditional and modern ideas. The fairy tales themselves make a fascinating collection, well worth the cost of the package alone. Of course there are some we all know. Red Riding Hood makes her appearance with the Path card and famous writers such as the Brothers Grimm and Andrew Lang are well represented. Otherwise, there are some haunting but more obscure tales that I'd never encountered before such as the Mermaid of Zennor; a Cornish folk tale attached to the Anchor card.Where the card symbolism is concerned, there are one or two notable differences between these cards and a traditional Lenormand deck. The Rider card becomes `The Horse'; a substitution which makes good sense when seen alongside the corresponding fairy tale (The Magic Horse from 1001 Nights). The basic gist of the card remains unchanged however. With other cards, the imagery has a more improvised feel so the Man for instance shows a top hat, a moustache and a walking cane rather than depicting a literal figure. The Child card shows a large egg about to hatch in a bird's nest.A standard Lenormand pack is usually about the size of a poker deck whereas these are much larger (8 cm x 13 cm). This may be limiting when performing a thirty six card reading and you'll need a bigger than normal table space. That aside, the artwork really does benefit from being reproduced at this size. Bev Speight has done a fantastic job here. The images have a cool, contemporary feel without being sugary or cloying. They are bold graphic images that manage to have an artless innocence about them; qualities that only the cleverest of designers would be able to capture, given the subject matter. If you're like me you'll find yourself dazzled by the bold colours and playfulness of these images but you'll also find yourself returning to the cards on a regular basis as they offer a sound reading experience. If you're new to card reading this is a wonderful and very accessible set to start with. Even if you're an experienced reader and well versed in the Lenormand tradition you may still want to add this to your collection for a fresh perspective and for the visual feast offered by card artwork. I can also imagine this set appealing to younger and older readers alike. Like many of the fairy tale collections celebrated in the guidebook, it's a treasure chest of riches to be delved into and enjoyed.

Regarding The Lenormand Fairy Tale Fortune cards...
For the most part I love these cards - the images of the cards are simple, clear, easy to interpret - there are a just a few cards that I would clerify the images a bit, but other than that I am very pleased with these cards - comes with a book the size of the box - I think anyone interested in the "Lenormand" deck would appreciate these cards!
