Car Roof Bag Cargo Carrier, 20 Cubic Feet Waterproof Rooftop Cargo Carrier with Storage Carrying Bag + 10 Reinforced Straps Suitable for All Vehicle with/Without Rack

Have gone 5000 miles from Georgia to Washington and now on our way back. Fits loads of luggage, not too noisy if you pack it right (heavy form fitting stuff in the very front, try your best to pack it to the shape of the rooftop bag). It lasted through one or two thunderstorms while driving. However, one night while we were camping, it rained the entire night and we did wake up to puddles in both our tent and rooftop bag. Nothing not easily cleaned up with a couple of towels though. It can definitely last through some rain while driving but if you anticipate hours upon hours of rain, keep the important stuff in the car.Only once in the 5000 miles so far have we had to stop and readjust the position or the straps because of noise.Overall, I'm really pleased with this product and I anticipate it lasting a few more cross country trips.Only downside is my Prius that typically gets 40-45 mpg, the car top carrier brought it down to average 31 mpg. To be expected with any carrier however.

We did get some leakage in the front when driving through heavy rain. The front zipper did leak. Easy to install after the first time. Had to look up the instructions online the first time. It was bigger than I thought and held a ton of stuff! 2 backpacking packs, a small duffle bag, small gold club bag, 2 small camp chairs and some other small items. Held up great for a 7 day trip covering 6 states.Only complaint was the front zipper leaking in the heavy rain.

The zipper tore on the first trip; I should have returned it then. Get to the beach yesterday and the seam on top has ripped apart on the passenger side (roughly 4” long). It didn’t even last two trips. We only live 2.5 hours from the beach. I really thought I’d get more than two trips out of it. I bough it on the recommendation from a friend who has had one for over a year. He wears by it. Maybe I just got a defective one; i would try another to make sure if it were free. I really like the ease of set up and tear down vs a hard shell; not to mention much easier to store. If not though I’ll put my money toward a hard shell that will last. As far as water I cannot comment. It never rained either trip.

Who wants to go along? Oh crap better get a luggage rack! Search began; first looked at those hard case types ( https://amzn.to/3ncqmz2 ) ... dang? only gonna use it once. Worked perfect, right price and now it's stowed in the trunk for emergencies. Do that with a hard case! One piece of advise: Position and fill on roof, close then strap down - don't forget the protective mat ( https://amzn.to/3gw9Qsk ) - the directions show securing the corners first but found doing all at once (after zipping) just a proficient (saved a step).

I'm 78 . . had a friend come over and help me install it and help load it . . was installed in about 15 minutes . . and I just kept bringing boxes and bags and we kept putting them in . . had almost nothing to put in the car . . unloaded it myself in about 20 minutes and took it down in about 10 minutes . . really amazed at how great this carrier was .

We attached this car top carrier to our Jeep Compass. We fit 2 large suitcases, several beach chairs, an inflatable mattress, several beach games and many towels. We could have fit more!! We hit some very heavy rain on our way to the beach, and everything inside was dry. The straps and clips on the carrier are very sturdy and the carrier never moved! Great purchase!!

This was excellent until the return trip. The front corner ripped and everything inside got wet in the rain. Can’t ever use it again.

This worked great and held up throughout my drive cross country. Very sturdy and solid material. I did not have my roof rack set up and it worked fine with the straps, although I was a little nervous about it. The straps did leave a mark on my car where they were strapped right on above the door as we had to strap it to the interior of the car (hence the 4 and not 5 stars). so better to use with a roof rack set up. I'll definitely set it up before using this again. but will certainly use it again!
