My board was a lemon. The build would not even POST - all other components were tested and found to be good. My experiences with Gigabyte to date have been favorable - my last board is still running strong after six years. QC evidently missed this one.

Gigabyte LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gbps USB 3.0 ATX DDR3 1600 Intel Motherboards GA-Z87-HD3It lasted a little over 3 years, and gave me problems as early as the 2nd year. Most retailers wash their hands of defective products within the first 6 months. The manufacture is done after 3 years. I wish I had known better, and I would have RMA'ed it at the first sign of issues.I don't know if this is normal quality standard for Gigabyte, but if you buy from them you should DEFINITELY hang on to the box, and warranty information. I reached out to Gigabyte for help and they suggested I buy a new one from eBay...

Hard to get video
Check forum for this board on Gigabyte regarding memory and iGPU issues.4 DIMMs can be trouble (Kingston Reds both 2x8GB and 2x4GB are fine, not together), Corsair Vengence Pro work but not some on approved list and ussue even with latest BIOS with 4 DIM, or above 1600MHzHorrible time getting video signal to monitor. Wish I had avouded integrated gpu. New AMD HIS 7770 just could not, some ppl found they couldnot boot with OCUe GPU. Older HIS 6850 eventually worked.I am using UEFI and booting off Samsung 840 EVO 256GB which is extremely responsive even compared to pre-EVO. Nice to have 6 x SATA III 6G ports.Still using Intel cooler on i5 4570 3,2GHZ and seeing 35-45°C but ordered Corsair 212 T4(?) on order.Setup meets my needs but I think Gigabyte slipped or fell down with this one.Update 2014/2/20: New BIOS F8a (was on F6 originally, then F7) seems has better GPU support. still helps to have a display connected to Intel integrated graphics which you probably need to get started (HDMI or DVI to monitor or TV).Update 2014/2/26:You can now download Intel Iris and HD graphics Driver Version 15.33.14.3412 for Windows 7/8/8.1.This newly released update is targeted at systems containing Intel's 4th-gen Core units with HD Graphics 4600..In addition to that, the Miracast image freeze-related issues are fixed, the DisplayPort bugs regarding several connected monitors are now history, and Intel's Graphics Control Panel audio problems are resolved.

So far so good
About 3 months in and all good EXCEPT for 2 issues and I'm not sure if this is a problem with the mobo or not.USB 3.0 has not been stable. When I run the usb's in xHCI mode, they kick off my hard drives from time to time and wont remount them without a restart. Not sure if this is a motherboard issue or a Mac OSX issue, because I had a similar issue with my mac mini when it was connected to a USB 3 device. Also running using the CPU to run graphics would SOMETIMES cause the screen to become complete static and the whole computer would freeze. Not sure if thats a motherboard issue or my CPU.Using internal storage and a GPU completely fixed those issues and now i'm COMPLETELY happy. Could be happier with the purchase. Computer is running great!Gave 4 stars instead of less because IM not sure if the problem really is the mobo or not. But I'm sure the mobo must be playing at least some small role in incompatibility with parts is should be completely compatible.***FYI I'm using up to date bios and software on all counts***

Keeps on Going for 8+Years
Using it now on my test bench. Never had a problem with it and used it as my everyday rig since 2014. Upgraded in 2021 to another computer. Downside is that limited to 32gig and Windows 11 had fit when I tried to upgrade to it.

Great for Hackintosh
This is a great board for someone who wants to build a hackintosh. I just built one using this motherboard and an i3-4330. The only problem I had was that I had to remove one of the 2 memory in my computer in order to reach the os x installation. If I didn't do that, I would get a kernel panic. Other than that, it was really easy. I didn't use any boot flags (except -v but that doesn't really count cause it isn't required). After the installation I boot into my new OS X partition and then installed all the drivers with MultiBeast. After that I turned off my computer and reinstalled the removed memory stick and then turned it back on. Everything works including ethernet, audio, usb 3 ports, usb 2 ports, sleep, integrated graphics, etc. I would really recommend this motherboard for anyone who is building a budget hackintosh; however, I think that there are other Asus motherboard that are better than this for people who are building a Windows PC or any other os other than os x.
