A BEAST!!
After maintaining our 33,000-gallon Grecian-shaped pool for 42 years, I finally invested in a robotic pool vacuum this year - the Dolphin Advantage Ultra. Our pool ranges from 3.5 feet in the shallow end to over 9 feet at its deepest (10 feet at max level), about 43 feet long, 24 feet wide. My previous cleaner was a basic 1980s Polaris back in the day. After two years of pondering, I chose a Dolphin robotic cleaner with a caddy, keeping my budget around $1,000.What I Wanted in a Dolphin Cleaner:• Ability to clean floors, corners, sloping and vertical walls, and the waterline to tackle grass clippings, floating debris, and bugs.• Anti-tangle swivel for smooth operation.• Strong suction power with front and back rotating brushes.• Fine or ultra-fine filter (I upgraded to ultra-fine online for enhanced performance). What I Didn’t Need:• WiFi or scheduling features (I avoid leaving the cleaner in the pool overnight to extend its lifespan).• A battery-powered unit, as it might not handle a 33,000-gallon pool, especially for back-to-back cleaning cycles.Performance Impressions: This cleaner is a beast! It reminds me of skateboarding in pools as a kid—effortlessly navigating drops, vertical walls, and horizontal surfaces. Its first run was flawless, covering every inch of the pool. I dove in with snorkel gear to inspect, and there wasn’t a single missed spot. However, on the fourth run, it skipped one corner—possibly my fault, as I jumped in to check suction after upgrading to the ultra-fine filter. That upgrade was worth it, though; it captured fine dust in the deep end and even devoured bugs climbing the walls. Note: it doesn’t clean steps, but brushing them takes me less than five minutes before dropping the cleaner in.Final Thoughts: I’m thrilled with the Dolphin Advantage Ultra’s performance and value. Compared to premium competitors, it offers similar specs (minus unnecessary WiFi features) at a better price. Dolphin sets the standard for performance, durability, and affordability. I’ll update this review if any issues arise, but for now, it’s a fantastic investment. Happy pool cleaning!

Third Dolphin!
We moved into a new house this year with a pool. The pool cleaner the sellers left us, broke shortly after (was one that used pump power) I have lived in two other homes with pools that we purchased Dolphin Cleaners for and they work great! This model comes with a cord that does not tangle as much, however every few months, I will lie it out straight in the sun to keep from tangling or bunching up when back in the pool. The dolphin cleaners are durable, well built, and reliable. They are easy to clean out and well worth the price. Tried and True and they back the product. Highly recommend. Wall cleaning power is great on this one, even cleans my water line!

Not worth the money!
I bought an "Dolphin Advantage Pro" for $999.00. There are many similar products that sale for $500 or less. I thought I would spend more money and get a quality product. I am disappointed because after 4 hours there is lots of debris left on the bottom of the pool. Maybe I just got a defective unit. My old Kreepy Krauly did a better job. I do like many of the features on the Dolphin, but it doesn't do a good job on the basics. Got a note back company that said you can’t use extension cord. The follow up from company was very poor. I think you will be very disappointed!

Spent more than I wanted but I don't regret it
This is my first experience with a self contained robot pool cleaner. I previously owned a Hayward automatic pool cleaner and since I don't have a dedicated cleaner connection I had to connect through my skimmer with the hose. Once that broke I just switched to a manual vacuum. Cleaning a pool is a pain in the ass. Brush the walls, fill the hose with water, pop the top of the skimmer, remove the basket, connect the hose to the skimmer and the vacuum, adjust the valves for maximum suction, go to work and then reverse the process at the end. This method also increases the filter maintenance since everything you suck up ends up in the filter.I considered buying another cleaner that attaches to the skimmer with a hose and the one I settled on was listed at $489. This Dolphin robot cleaner was listed at $599. So for a bit more than an extra $100 I got a cleaner that I just drop in the pool, connect to the power supply and push a button. It runs for a couple hours and then shuts off. I pull it out of the pool, rinse out the filter basket, rinse the cleaner, unplug it from the power supply and put it away. That's it. No extra stress on my filter or pool pump. No emptying the vacuum hose and storing it. No messing with the skimmer. I can run it when the pump is off. It climbs the walls up to the waterline and it has a rotating brush on the front that scrubs the walls and the floor. My pool is immaculate. It doesn't have a phone app, it doesn't map the pool, it doesn't have the extra feature that keeps the cord from getting twisted. I don't care. The first time I used it it missed a couple spots so I ran it again the next day and it cleaned the missed spots. I ran it again on the third day just because it's so easy to use. The cord got loosely twisted each time but since I remove it after each use it's no problem to untwist it when I put it away. I don't watch it, after a couple hours I look out the door and see it's not moving anymore so I know it's done and I pull it out. Even without the extra features this cleaner is fantastic. It might be nice to have dual rotating brushes but it cleans so well without that feature I doubt I would pay more to have it. As long as it doesn't break in the next few years I'll be happy. From what I've read Dolphin makes the best pool cleaners which is why I picked this one. So far so good.
