Kept water from freezing
We live on a small ranch in SE Texas and have occasional freezes, we’ve gotten down as low as 12 degrees ( I know !!! and this is Texas !!) , got tired of breaking ice in am/pm in our troughs, looked at reviews and decided these seemed to be the best and they certainly were !!! It’s been almost three winters now using these ( we ordered a couple extras to have on hand) and what a time/ energy saver !! Easy to assemble, completely kept water from freezing , you can use in plastic, ceramic, and concrete troughs or containers , we have them in10 -100 gallon troughs, has a thermostat that only kicks on when the temps drop below freezing, needs access to electricity, we use outdoor extension cords, heaters are well made, if you appreciate time savers, it’s a GREAT value for the money !

It works!
Used on a Rubbermaid tank. Do need to cover half the tank when it’s windy but worked great in our unusually cold spell.Doesn’t have a cover to keep horse away from heating element but put it in the covered half of the tank.

Amazing!
I got this to use in my pigs drinking 55 gallon plastic barrel. We had a very cold winter thus far and this thing hasn’t missed a beat. Pigs have had water everyday they wanted.

Do not recommend
Dangerous I have used these last two years and they burn out almost immediately but this year I got one and I had an electrician do the wiring, and luckily, I was getting in my car because it actually started spark and caught on fire while it was in the water tall I would not use these
