Sturdy and price-wise a great deal. However, it was a challenge making amulets and talismans while trying to slide gemstone beads and/or metal spacers on that had standard 2 mm openings; the cord was just a tad too thick and difficult to work with. As another reviewer wrote, the wax coating seems light. Would be fine for braiding or for hanging pendants, or for use with very large hole beads.

I received a lot on this role than I had expected. Plus the cord seems to be really sturdy and of good material. Perfect for making cord chains. Would definitely recommend for jewellery makers.

I do not know what this product is “usually” used for, but I needed a durable cord that was somewhat weather resistant. So far, it has the strength required to hang outdoor globes and the ends can be fused to keep them from fraying. (Application was outdoor plastic globes hanging in tree with led lights inside). We did have a storm blow through with 50 mph winds and everything is still in the trees!

There isn't much wax on this cotton cording, which is a bummer since the wax usually makes necklace cord a bit sturdier, less likely to get tangled, and much easier to tie knots that won't come undone. It also has white cotton on the inside of the black, which is a bummer since I use adjustable knots on my necklace cords so there is a tiny fleck of white on each of the knots. I will use this because I bought it and money is tight, but I likely won't purchase again.I will say the braiding is pretty tight and this might work well for others' purposes.. but if you want to make adjustable knots take note of the lack of wax and the white core.

I ordered the brown and the black and they are different. The black seems better quality than the brown. I will use the black proudly but the brown I’m not sure exactly how to use it.

I ordered the black and the brown in 2 mm. The black is thicker and seems to be built better than the brown. The brown is thinner and seems as if it is not built as well.
