The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas Soundtrack

Loved this movie. Each of the characters was perfect for the roll they played. I so enjoy listening to the music !

Love it!

Really think we could apply this principle to real life. Especially for men whose women don't feel like it, and he doesn't want to cheat. it's either self-gratification, another woman or neutering. Some men just have more testosterone than others, and some "need" it more than others. My boy friend said that after good sex, he's too relaxed to run. He can't understand how rapists have the energy to run.Even though this is a fantasy, Dolly and Bart make as entertaining and entwining couple as Julia Roberts and RIchard Gere. Burt Reynolds is crazy-handsome and Dolly as usual is the only outstanding robust female in the movie. Underneath the dancing and nuances, it addresses a real problem, moral and physical, in our society. I recall the comments of some European exchange students in San Francisco - how narrow our views are toward nudity, sex, homosexuality, and acceptance. And this is San Francisco, one of the most "open" communities in the U.S.This movie reminds me of Mustang Ranch -real life in Las Vegas. Also reminds me of an article I read about a bordertown where young wives and women were raped after a crop of immigrant workers came in. The women in church got together. Some were comfortable with the solution, and were subsidized with matching funds. The next day, rapes were zero. A couple of years ago, Watsonville, CA moaned about a similar problem. Did they resolve it the same way as the border town?

It's the official soundtrack, so what can you do. Not all of the songs are the exact same version from the movie. It's too bad, because Dolly Parton singing all of the parts to Hard Candy Christmas doesn't make as much sense as when all the other actresses are singing the same song. Still a great CD.

Great deal on this wonderful CD

The music is virtually unforgettable. Dolly and Burt are certainly having a great time together in this movie.Many people don't know that Dolly wrote (and performed in the movie) the song "I Will Always Love You", which was really brought to light by Whitney Houston.

Heard of BLWIT for quite a while before renting the movie. I especially enjoy the song by the "girls'" HARD CANDY CHRISTMAS; the Gov'ner's romp around the 'Capitol'; and the so delicate I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU by Dolly. All are classics.I am sure you have heard about Whitney Houston and Dolly choosing a song for a tv performance (the Grammys?)Dolly suggested they sing I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU.Whitney screeched at Dolly something llike "Who do you think you are? You think you are going to SING MY SONG?Dolly replied something like "It was my song long before you ever heard of it."Whitney was outraged and stormed off. She never would believe that Dolly wrote the song.Saw this on tv when Whitney was at the zenith of her celebrity.Quite a memory!

I have always loved Dolly Parton. I love this CD and gave it 5 stars. Although it's kind of old,I had borrowed the cassette from a friend many years ago and fell in love with the song (Hard Candy Christmas). I had always promised myself that I would purchase this CD someday. Well that day has come! And it sounds as wonderful as when I first heard it. There's several great songs on this cd! The song I will always love you. The song that Whitney Houston made a #1 hit by singing her rendition of it! Dolly just seems to be a down to earth great gal threw and threw! A must for Country Music lovers.

Fun soundtrack

It's a shame this musical isn't better remembered. So many musicals are a mix of good songs and dogs. With this one, every number is a winner. PG-13

Sound reproduction could be better, but hey, still a memorable album!

Would not order again.
