Elementary Particle Physics in a Nutshell
Q**T
A good and efficient introduction to LHC physics
This is a very well written text. It assumes familiarity with senior undergraduate level quantum mechanics and some knowledge of relativisticquantum mechanics up to the Dirac equation. Beyond that all the necessary technicalities are fully developed within the first three chapters. Yes, it iselementary particle physics in a nutshell so in places the explanations are quite terse and economical. However a well prepared reader will find thatthe author does lay down all the facts in a clear and consistent manner and the most importantly, the derivations are not difficult to follow. Personally I have found this book very useful and is a speedy and efficient introduction to particle physics phenomenology, from which I have learnt a lot. The book delivers as promised, a good introduction to understanding research papers on LHC physics. Many thanks to the author.
