Unisex shoe, great for boys!
My son just started tap, and I did not want to invest in a pricey shoe until I know if he will stick with it. Yet, all of the inexpensive beginner children's shoes were Mary-Janes. Luckily, I looked up shoe conversions online, and discovered his boys size 4 is a woman's 5.5. On his teacher's recommendation I sized up to a women's 6, and it fits very well. Room to grow, but not so much that is is uncomfortable. After a month of use, it is already showing some wear and tear. I will be lucky if the shoe lasts before he outgrows it. The insole is very thin and breaking down at the heel, but I can add an insert. The faux leather is what it is.... not going to stand up to hard use but functional for now.The taps themselves are better than I expected, and per the teacher they have "good tones".My son loves dancing in them, so I have to recommend them. If you already have a dedicated dancer, these are too cheap, but for a beginner they are great!

Runs small!
We have had some trouble with these shoes.Overall, they do seem like a good buy for the price. We compared them to Capezio and Bloch Taps, and the taps on these seem decent, they are pretty thick and screwed on. The shoe is a little bit of a different story, it is imitation leather that does not seem very comfortable or flexible. For only about $25 more, you could definitely get a better shoe, but if you are beginner and not sure if you are going to stick with it these are an okay choice. Now the negatives about the shoes we received:We had so much trouble sizing these shoes. Originally we ordered a ladies 7 and 7.5 for a boy who wears about a ladies 7. They were both way too small. Those went back, and we ordered a 8 and 8.5. Again these were a little small. (Although these were for a younger boy who is not used to "snug" dance shoes and likes to wear socks) So we ordered a 9. When the 9's arrived, they were obviously well used. It looks like someone used them for many classes. The screws on these were coming out (another potential issue with the shoes) The 9's obviously went back. Not sure what we will do now. Definitely be wary of sizing and quality issues!

good shoe for beginners
I agree with the reviewer who said the screws on the taps were stripped, 10 of the 12 screws on my shoes were too, so I hope they don't come loose. However, very soft and comfortable for a synthetic leather and very reasonably priced - I am just trying tap for the first time and really didn't want to spend a whole lot for shoes when I'm not sure I'll stick with it. Unlike other reviewers, I did find them to be true to size. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase.

Don’t run small
everyone in the reviews was saying that these ran small so I ordered a size up. sadly it seems like these shoes run true to size , so the shoes were too large. Seem good quality.

Great beginner shoe.
I wear a women's 8 street shoe and ordered a size 9, since that's what I buy for a running shoe. The fit is perfect, the support is nice, and the shoe is great for a beginner. I've only had a handful of lessons so I don't know how "good" they are if you actually know what you're doing.

Pleased ... until not entirely.
They did what we needed them to do, which wasn't that much. We were very pleased until, after only two weeks of light-moderate use, half of the sole fell off one of them. For tap shoes, they are pretty cheap, but to my mind, even a $40 tap shoe ought to survive a little longer than that without needing a repair. But maybe that's a sacrificial piece that I'm expected to replace, I really don't know anything about tap shoes.

Rightly priced for beginners
I wanted inexpensive pair of tap shoes to try out a tap dance class. So this was the one I chose. I prefer synthetic leather which is very easy to clean. They fit perfectly, and I didn't get any blisters or pain. The price was right for a beginner like me, and I have no complaint. Someone thought my shoes were as good as her $70+ shoes. After months of dancing, they are still in good shape.

Very comfortable for my daughter
Very comfortable for my daughter . The size was almost perfect as per the chart . The chart said 7.5 but I got an 8 and it fits like a glove 👌🏻 Very happy with the purchase. The only issue I had was with the KYC as the Aramex courier kept calling me for giving KYC for customs clearance inspite of me sending it 3 times and I had also uploaded in amazon website while placing the order . That frustrated me quite a bit . Probably the seller should think about choosing a better courier service going forward !!

Loved the fit but some assembly issues on shoe
I really liked the fit of this shoe however the lining on the sole came out with my foot. One of the eyelets was loose. (Although I liked the idea of the eyelets) and one shoe sounded like glue sticking under the tap when walking. I decided to return these however if those three things weren't and issue I would have loved to keep them. I liked the fit. I felt if this was an issue right up front I wasn't sure they would last.
