Handmade Short Katana Japanese Wakizashi Samurai Sword T10 Steel Clay Tempered Blade

This is the 3rd sword Yongli has created for me. We have built up a rapport. They are kind enough to customize my swords to my specs. What I have received from them is a really high quality effort. The newest one has a super T10 blade with a clay tempered Hamon that will knock your socks right off. Really beautiful! They also changed the Ito to black leather and real Same’. They changed the color of the Saya to a deep red for me and allowed me to pick my fittings as you can see in the photos. And all for $50 extra. A real bargain to attain your heart’s desire. The pics you see were sent to me before they shipped the sword. They wanted to make sure I was satisfied with the results, and I definitely was. Yongli does exemplary work as long as you are specific about what you want. They really care about their reputation and want to give you a quality product. I have purchased a couple of swords from Yongli now, and they both are excellent quality! Tight handles and fittings, and the blades are shaving sharp! They did a couple of custom modifications for me and did a great job, and only took a week and a half for shipping. I highly recommend them!

at first this appears to be a great sword for the price. the blade us good and at this price point you only get basic parts. so the fake rayskin only in row is common along with the wooden saya. the problem is the manufacturing. the tang only had one hole the other hole in the handle had only wood plugs put in each side and the handle doesn't come off I think it is glued on. this means that this sword is not proper for wakizashi maintenance. I will have to unwrap it and grind the wood core off the tang and drill the second hole, buy new handle parts and make my own sword handle. this one would look nice on the wall but wasn't made to be real. follow up. sure enough its glued on and they welded a bolt on the end. good if you never plan on taking the handle off. the blade is nice and the reason I bought the sword.

Great looking Wakizashi. Fairy sharp right out of the box. Beautifully balanced. Some would say the sword is "light", but I'd call it "lively". easy to maneuver. I would buy again!

I like the blade, but the tang has 1 hole in it for the tanto I got, for the wakizashi there were no real holes in the metal and I, just like that other guy, needed to drill my own. Also has a bolt welded to tang and is screwed on at the bottom. Not a fan of that for a traditional katana/waki/tanto. Tang was glued into handle as well. The saya is pretty solid though it's kurigata is plastic. I discovered this sanding it down prepping for a leather wrap. Also this is NOT a left handed sword. The "little metal dragons" go under finger tips, not in your palm.

I did not expect a lot, but this is a quality looking blade. Nicely done. Quite sharp, but not tested. No complaints at all! I am not a blade expert , but worked my career as a Toolmaker so I know fitment and metal.

Great sword

It looks great but it had a lot of oil so it has left smudges on the blade that dose not come off and it is a left handed sword at least put it on the page so we know what we are buying. How to tell if you have a left or right handed sword is the little metal dragons on the handle goes in the palms of your hands. The hand in front is what the sword is so mine is a left handed sword!
