Del Destino Pepperoncini 1 Gallon

These are great, perfect amount of crunch and spice.

I buy a lot of things from Amazon, completely satisfied by the vast majority of products I receive. Even so, I rarely feel compelled to write a review. Over the past few years I've been buying gallon sized containers of pepperoncinis from a local Greek market. I won't mention the brand name but I believe it would be easily recognized in most places. I'd been becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the product for a number of reasons, including unpleasant taste, lack of texture, lack of color, barely any heat, and an unpleasant aftertaste. Why I kept buying these, I don't know.I decided to try the Del Destino pepperoncinis even though they are about three times the price of the brand I've been buying locally. I can say that these peppers are well worth the extra price. They are crisp and tasty, pack just the right amount of heat (not too much) and have no undesirable aftertaste. This was an easy 5 Star rating.

First, pepperoncini and banana peppers are NOT the same thing people so stop complaining because these aren’t mild. These have just the right (and expected) amount of kick and nowhere near as spicy as a jalapeño. I got these for salads and sandwiches and am happy with the taste, texture, and quantity here.

I have a bunch of tobasco on my eggs every morning so I am no stranger to hot pepper but these are too hot for salads and such. Good, crunchy but 8 cannot eat more than 3 without my mouth catching fire!

Del Destino PepperonciniAs a pepperoncini lover, these are by far the best I’ve ever tasted—better than any other brand I’ve tried. They’re packed with flavor and have just the right amount of heat—not too spicy, just perfect. What really sets them apart is the texture. They have a great bite—firm, not soggy, with a tough skin that gives you something to chew. These little babies hold up beautifully! They’re perfect with sandwiches, pizza, or tossed into a salad. I even mix them into my tuna salad for an extra kick. I’ll definitely be ordering more of this brand. Highly recommend!

Price is cheap, Flavor ok, the problem is the thick skin is inedibly tough. Chew all you can and end up with a thick cud in your mouth. Even the baby ones were tough. Willing to pay more. I eat lots. No more of these.

I'm used to softer skin, not salty. (good thing) very tangy. high black pepper-like heat.9/10
