Ambient Probe Better Than Meat Probes
I purchased this for use with my Big Green Egg grill. At first I was very impressed and loved the interoperability with the iPad and temp monitoring. I like the actual iGrill unit and the ambient temp probe. I never had a problem with these two items. However, I had to return the meat probes multiple times due to failure. I never used them in high heat (nothing over 400 - another downfall), but they still began to fail after about 3-4 long cooks. By fail, I am referring to the fact that they read wild temps. For example, I would insert into a glass of ice water and it would say 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Amazon was awesome at providing replacements, as always, but the quality of the meat probes are just unacceptable (the ambient probe was always perfect, which is really odd). I finally chalked it up as a loss (4 different meat probes were used, all failed after a month or so). I then purchased a Thermapen MK4 at a comparable price point, and will never look back.

Perfect Temps While Grilling
I do a tremendous amount of smoking and grilling year round. I've always used the thermometer on my smoker or grill. Monitoring smoker temperature means going outside and frequently checking and making sure there has not been drastic change. The Igrill probe has finally solved this for me. I set the probe in the middle of my gas grill and adjusted the burners for indirect grilling. Monitoring the temperature via the Android app, I adjusted the burners until I got a stable temperature of 350. Then it was time to put the beer can chicken on the grill.I placed an Igrill meat probe into the thickest part of the breast. I set a peak alarm on the Android app for 165 degrees and waited. After never lifting the lid to check, the alarm went off 80 minutes later and my chicken was ready. After 30 minutes of resting covered, I shredded the chicken and used it to make some awesome chicken nachos. The leftover meat has also been used to make a chicken torta. So if you want to grill meat to the perfect temperature with the ultimate level of confidence, I highly suggest an Igrill.

The battery life has been great and I added 2 more probes
How did I ever survive without an iGrill? If you don't have one of these but do any sort of bbq, you are doing it wrong. The battery life has been great and I added 2 more probes. The interface on the iPhone is very easy to use, though I wish the alarms were able to be changed and I wish they would incorporate a timer option. Not the end of the world but something that could be improved upon. I would have spent a few more dollars on a waterproof unit. When it rains and I have a smoke going, I simply put the unit at the grill in a baggy. Great product!

works great, graphs are great to see how things are ...
works great, graphs are great to see how things are rising, i use it with 2 temp probes and the probe for the grate temp and it works just as it should. makes it so you can be nice and lazy while smoking meats.the magnet on the back is good and strong, holds it right in place on the back of my Big Green Egg.only complaint is the range for the bluetooth isn't that great, maybe 30-40'

Very nice
Very nice and functional. I am not sure what all to say about this other than it works very well, is designed to connect to the other probes I already have. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that I wish it would have come with a different color marker instead of a color that comes as the one that came in the box with the original probe. Very small issue, not even sure I would call it an issue.

Perfect for UDS BBQing, and calibrating your oven!
Works great with my iGrill 2! I use up to three meat probes when I BBQ to check for doneness, and one of these to check the ambient temperature of my Pit Barrel Cooker . Using this, I can tell from inside the house whether I need to adjust the air flow, or add more coals.I even used it in the oven in my apartment, and discovered that it was consistently off by 15 degrees! My home cooking has improved as a result, as I now set my oven to a higher temperature to compensate for the error.

Tried this out the other day and it worked very well! I tested the probe in boiling water. Where I am at, that's roughly 210 degrees. This probe read 209, which is certainly close enough. It is a little pricy, so I am dropping 1 star. I think $20 would be a fairer price. I'm just hoping it stands the test of time.

Use this instead of your hood thermometer!!
Love this addition to my igrill 2. Both temperatures are shown on my iPhone and I get an alert if the ambient temperature moves below or above the range I put in. Don't use the thermometer on the hood. Mine showed a temp 75 degrees below the temp on the grill next to the food. So if you are going by the hood temp and turn up the heat to meet the temp you are shooting for...you will get over cooked, dry food. This is my new, fantastic grill toy!!
