I got this for my 15 years old daughter. She doesn't have a lot of confidence when it comes to drawing so this book was great for her. Even if you are a little bit off on the directions they still turn out completely cute. And the steps are simple enough that she can remember them without the book. I will be looking to pick up the rest of the set for her.

love love love.. so cute.. love to just sit and draw these little things the more you draw the more interesting and different the designs become.. but i should warn it does frustrate some who do not like to draw or don't normally draw because they think it so easy and when they attempt it doesn't quite come out like they think it is going to.. i love them.. i think its fun and i love to draw..

Purchased this book for my daughter and I. I thought it would be a great entry level book on learning how to draw, and in that area it is wonderful. Even though there aren't that many characters to draw it still is a great little learning tool, and my daughter and I had fun trying each picture. I have found that I draw better freehand by looking at the completed character than I do step by step. I say this because in a step by step approach I tend to try to emulate too closely what the actual (good) artist draws, and just end up burning through my eraser. However, my daughter is just now learning to draw her numbers, and seeing that she can use simple numbers and shapes to create cute "Kawaii" characters makes her want to practice even more no matter how rudimentary her drawings are at this point. All in all I really like this book, and only wish it contained more characters for the dollar.
