Hill's Prescription Diet k/d Kidney Care Vegetable, Tuna & Rice Stew Wet Cat Food, Veterinary Diet, 2.9 oz. Cans, 24-Pack

Bought for my cat who has tend issues. She loves it. The food is the same price as the one from my vet.

I was worried that the KD diet would be "good" for my three cats, but that they wouldn't like it. Luckily I was able to try a couple of cans from my vet before buying cases and they absolutely LOVED LOVED it!! So I can't tell you how happy I am that not only is this very healthy food for them, but that it is their favorite food too!! Score!! I have some of the pickiest cats I've ever had, or known - so for them to love this food is a huge accomplishment. Okay - it's not cheap - and that's the only drawback, But helping them to be healthy - or at least to slow the progress of the breakdown of their kidneys (they're all over 16 years old, sadly), is a blessing. It makes me very happy. Worth the requirement of getting your vet to approve the purchase - which is kind of weird and seem arbitrary - but what the heck. I'll go along with it to get all the benefits and pleasure my cats deserve.

I have an older cat who was losing weight because of kidney issues; she could no longer process the protein in regular food. This kidney diet food is helping her to gain weight back. I've found most of the k/d food comes as "pate" type wet food, which all of my cats hate and won't eat. This k/d food is chunks in gravy which my cat loves; even when she wasn't up to eating all the chunky bits she would eat all the gravy so she wasn't going hungry.I would recommend if you have a finicky cat that requires k/d food.

It tastes awful and stinks to high heaven . . but . . when we had to put our furry friend on a kidney health diet he wouldn't eat anything until we tried this tuna & rice flavor. He seems to love the stuff. When he's happy then we're happy. The only downside is that it isn't available in the larger cans - still 5 stars

...she eats the tuna but prefers the chicken stew. I like the convenient size.

My cat had digestive issues when he got older and couldn't even keep down wet food. I figured it was the end of the road for him, but the vet recommended Hill's. I thought I was buying a few months at most, but he lived another 18 months with almost no issues until the final couple weeks.I miss my little buddy but thank you Hill's for giving me that extra time with him.

My kitty with kidney issues loves this tuna stew flavor best & its been hard to get recently from my vet. I ordered 2 cases and Your Pet Food Supply shipped it to Hawaii and I got it in just a couple days! That never happens here!On another note I really don't understand why these "prescription diet" foods have to be by prescription (humans dont have prescription diet foods) or are so expensive but that's another topic...

My vet told me my cat needs to eat prescription kidney food. I purchased the cans, and my cat doesn't like it. I keep trying to give it to him and am happy when he nibbles a few bites. I previously bought the dry, and he'll eat those. It's very expensive in my opinion, but if it helps my cat, I'm ok with that.
