Ford Genuine XT-5-QM MERCON-V Automatic Transmission and Power Steering Fluid - 1 Quart

Mercon V is the most common type of Ford Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) used in earlier year model Fords, it is very much like Dexron III. Dyed with Red color to detect leaks, It is a fully synthetic ATF. Motorcraft MERCON V (Actually a Roman numeral 5 not "Vee" as most people think) is a premium-quality automatic transmission fluid. Formulated & Recommended by Ford Motor Company for use in Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles that require either MERCON V or the old type MERCON type fluid. I did some research and found that FORD does not make MERCON anymore as suggested in the owner's guide for 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid and there were Technical Service Bulletin (TSBs) released indicating "MERCON V" as the replacement transmission fluid. The Ford (TSB) 06-14-04 indicates that Mercon "V" is to replace the original Mercon fluid. The vehicle uses 5.3 quarts (5.0L) and this 5 Quart jug is perfect and exact quantity needed to replace the factory fluid. Please note: Warning! Do not use this in Transfer cases. or put them inside PTUs. Using any transmission fluid other than those that meet the recommended specification may cause internal transaxle damage. Do NOT use Motorcraft MERCON CVT (blue) ATF in 2006 ford escape hybrids. You need to use the "RED" color fluid. Just what I needed, and what you should use in your 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. Or any older ford/Mercury/Panther Car.. This is the proper viscosity compared to the equivalents sold out there. Worked great for my fluid and filter change

I think this is a good product. I got what I ordered. I needed this for my 4R 100 transmission and I’m sure it will work perfect shipping could’ve been faster. That’s why four star ordered on Friday did not receive until Thursday of the next week. and I will probably order from the seller again.

I've been slowly replacing my transmission fluid on my 02 Escape and I didn't want to use an aftermarket Mercon 5 oil. So I wanted the Ford brand specifically for my car. The transmission holds approximately 10 quarts and I've replaced 5 quarts so far. In a month I'll purchase another one and finish the job. So far the transmission is shifting very smooth with no issues at all.
