If you have lots of AR stuff this is a great deal
I am returning this case because it is far larger than my needs, which I feel badly about. My disappointment is doubled because it is a very well made case and inexpensive. I should have looked at the dimensions more carefully. On the other hand it is a 5 Star case for someone else with greater space needs than my own. It has two locking holes at the handle which is a lot better than 4 locking holes on the handle side like other cases I have. It has 4 easy to use snap fasteners. If traveling on an aircraft and you need room for an AR with scope, ammo, and other stuff this might be the case for you. This also makes for a great safe storage case out of the reach of children. Amazon used to carry cases that were more like >40-38" x 8" x 4", but I can't find them. Smaller cases are better for me because I put them into a large duffle bag. It is only common sense to not advertise the carrying of a fire arm and have it snatched at the airport. A smaller case also makes sense if carrying the shorter carbines or take down rifles. TSA sometimes gets annoyed at the duffle bag when they inspect it, but if people cannot see it ....they don't get strange thoughts. It also avoids some baggage handler getting ideas as well.

Definitely recommend!
This is an excellent value for the price! My one and only (minor) issue is the latches sometimes don't line up immediately, and it takes just a little adjustment to line up; again, very minor. Other than that I couldn't be happier. Very solid, and will hold up nice to any abuse. The foam inserts hold everything nice and snug, and the foam was easy to work with to fit in the compartmentalized sections. The strap system works great, as well as the ability to customize where everything fits in. I purchased the 6500 and am able to fit an AR, sidearm, ammo and magazines for both, as well as some small boxes containing tools/extra parts. I also want to add that I contacted this company directly with a question and an interest in extra parts for customization and they have top notch customer service. Quick to respond, polite, friendly, accommodating, and would recommend doing business with them based on that fact alone.

Good stuff but a bit flimsy
This is an okay case. The price is more than okay.

Absolutely awesome case for my Daniel Defense AR with scope but directions lack. So I wrote my own.
The best case I've owned. I did done a ton of research and decided to go with this one due to the ratings it received. I was not disappointed. It has a built in anti-corrosion system which I didn't know. Pros: Fits my Daniel Defense V5 with scope and bi-pod attached no problem with room to spare. 4 corner compartments that can hold a 30 round clip, bi-pod, scope, etc when detached. Very sturdy construction with optional straps that can be anchored to the case. Cons: For such an awesome case the directions leaflet suck. Brevity is the sole of wit but the directions lack in any real functional explanation and makes it seems like a chore to set it up; which it's not. Can pinch fingers when snapping the latches while holding the carrier handle. Not really a con due to the latches and seal being hard and tight. So more like a warning. Only 4 straps provided. I feel 6 would be optimal. Here's an explanation on how to set it up and it's features: It comes with 4 dividers. They are plastic but these are made with the anti-corrosion material. Just having them in the case prevents corrosion, they just conveniently made them dividers as well. @ 36 seconds you can see how that material prevents corrosion: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vJscjAuaKLc There are 2 sections of egg shell foam, one for the top lid and one for the bottom. (The lid to me is the half of the case that comes down, when the latches are facing me, and latches go down to snap. Just my preference) Flip each egg foam over and gently stretch them at the corners and you will see every corner has a line of lacerations that you can run a knife through to separate a corner. DO NOT CUT YET. Take both egg foams out and position your gun in the case and now close your case thinking about those 4 corners. My setup, with my case closed, the top left and top right provided enough room where my gun fit perfectly. As per the brief instructions they provided a corner section divider (on the lid) should match the corner section of the (bottom lid) when closed. Simple put, when the case is closed the plastic dividers from one side of the case should kiss the dividers to the other side. Ok you figured out what corners best fit your gun. Now time to cut. I started with the lid foam, top left right setup. I removed the foam, flipped it over and spread out the corner the lacerations with my fingers. I took a sharp knife and drew it between between my fingers while spreading the lacerations to cut the corners out. (Remember only TWO corners need to be cut out on each piece of foam.) Bottom lid foam I repeated the same to match the top. (I re-inserted the foams a couple times to make sure I was cutting the right corners to "kiss" the corresponding corners of the bottom lid.) Now you can refer to the inserted directions how to anchor the plastic sections and install the straps. One thing I noticed is the straps that go through those sections you just cut out, when screwed down, have slack and push the foam up. I simply cut them in two and removed the excess that was pushing the foam up. Hope this helps. Awesome case for the money and I would like to have all my guns in one of these.

Fantastic product quality and overall value, considering the price paid. This was meant to house a rifle-length AR-15 with an RDS, and this is the perfect size. Although I have not separated or compartmentalized the foam inside, it is nice to know that I can do so, especially in the event that I change to a different rifle system; perhaps something with a carbine-length gas system. I highly recommend this case for storage and transport purposes, and to ensure compliance with Canada’s rules and regulations for restricted firearms.

The case seems well built with hinges that appear to be capable of years of openings. Although I probably won't be using them the dividers are a great idea and make the most of available space. The sponge inserts are thick and I'm happy with the level of protection they afford my rifle. I'm not using the supplied velcro straps as the gun is being held in the case quite securely. The case is held shut by four plastic latches which seem sturdy enough to me. Although these are not lockable the case can be secured by passing two padlocks through the parts of the case (the eyes if you like) you can see under the carrying handle. The gun (a 110 carbine) is fitted with a 'big wheel" on the sight focusing ring and that together with the bipod meant a search for a case big enough and deep enough to accommodate the outfit. This case does the job but because of the width of the rifle there is a small gap between the two halves just under the carrying handles when case is closed. It's possible that this will close in time as the sponge linings settle but I don't really think of this as a problem and it's certainly not unsightly. Alltogether, and considering the price, I'm pleased with this case. I expect to need another in the near future and will have no hesitation in buying the same. Very comfortable in recommending this Flambeau rifle case.
