An attractive sage shrub from mountainous areas of southern Africa, with a long period of lilac and white flowers from early to mid summer. The flowers contrast well with the aromatic leaves, which change from green to silver as they mature, with the whole plant growing to a height of 0.5 - 1m. Dolomite Salvia looks best in an informal shrub border, rockeries and herb gardens. The plants attract plenty of pollinators. Plant in a sunny to part shaded spot in composted well drained soil. These plants are just hardy and better in warmer UK or Mediterranean gardens. They can be grown in pots and brought into a greenhouse over winter. Frost damaged plants often re-sprout from the roots. Sow anytime in warm conditions, or spring/summer. Keep the seed tray at 20-25°C and germination takes 1-2 weeks, but can be erratic so sow more than you need. Sowing instructions and a colour photo are printed on the packet. Please visit our shop for more seeds. Save on postage - just 85p for delivery of one or more packets of seeds in the UK and £1.75 by airmail to the rest of the European Union.
