1 Foot UV LED Black Light night fishing Strip 3528 Ultraviolet. 12 Volt

I used this in a fish tank, attached to the underside of the lid right next to the stock lights. It worked great for several days, I ended up using hot glue to keep it from peeling off. With a 12 volt power supply it was a little bright for a night light, I think I would put it on a 9 volt power supply next time (at least for someone who is used to sleeping in the dark). I had the stock light and this light both on a timer, blacklight on at night and daylight light on during the day.After about a week and a half I the light stopped working. The power supply was noticeably warmer than usual so I unplugged it. Opened up the lid and smack dab in the middle of the strip was a large black spot, at one of the cut lines. Either their was a defect that caused the strip to short or moisture seeped in and caused a short. Either way its toast now.Pros:- Light is true "Black Light", not just a blue or purple light.- Silicone insulated to protect the diodes and (supposed to) protect it from water.- Comes with wire leads that are pre-stripped at the ends.- Easy to stick to most dry surfaces, a dab of hot glue keeps it from peeling off.Cons:- Sticky back peels off easier than I would like.- Wire leads could be longer/more durable.- Does not appear to be water resistant, it was not submerged, only in a humid environment.- Shorted out on me, killed light.

not so bright - probably should gang two together - and not quite the same intense effect as a fluorescent black light - just OK.

Not nearly as bright as expected, but it does work.

This light is a little too small to provide enough light to fish by.

Some comments posted state that they aren't UV. Actually, they generate a portion of the spectrum from blue to UV. The blue light was not what I wanted, and the UV portion was very weak. I am underwhelmed by this product.

I bought this as a component for a Halloween costume I'm building. On testing the part only half the stripped worked. On further examination the soldered contacts seem sloppy and poorly done. Since I didn't need the full length I cut off one section of the strip along the designated "cut here" points and connected the remaining strip to power. The strip was still very flaky and wouldn't power consistently. (See photos.)I've since bought a different vendor's LED strip and had absolutely no problems with it. (The picture of the hat is using alternate vendor's product, NOT 10oc's product.)Manufacturing isn't perfect. Everyone gets a bad apple once in a while. My issue is when I attempted to return the clearly defective product the vendor refused to take it back on the grounds I'd "destroyed" it. All I did is cut the strip along the designated "cut here" points. Anyone who has worked with these or similar LED strips knows this shouldn't be a big deal or a deal breaker. Great lights, they are true black lights like the description says. I got these to use on a dozer bed I built for my grandson. Didn't want to use fluorescent as the light would be over his head and feared he might accidentally break. The effect is awsome! I wanted a chalkboard to glow
