Spectacular Dripper !
I love all things coffee and get really happy when I see a product made very well made. This plastic dripper is one such item. I started my journey in coffee with a humble Melitta Ready set joe a decade back. I have tried Harios , Eva solos , kalitas and hundred other brewers in the last decades but always find myself coming back to Melitta. This newer signature style is truly a proud and elegant representation of the 100 plus year old German company. I loved the porcelain version of this style and wanted to try the plastic version for travel. It’s an work of art and truly well made Tritan plastic and it glitters like glass. It’s built like a tank and it’s better than other Hario or other plastic drippers out there. Form follows function and every single detail like ridges on the side , hole size and it looks really beautiful. It’s not an wonder as this company found “pour over coffee” a century back and honestly Melitta Bentz would be really proud of this product ! One the side note I use this for travel and use the porcelain version of everyday home use. Amazing Product! highly recommended!

Splash Problem Solved!
UPDATE: This beautiful dripper has NO splashing issue if it's used correctly. The practice of wetting the coffee grounds with a little bit of water is what causes the "splashing". The dripper design uses the weight of the full brew water to push the coffee down and out of the little hole in the bottom into your cup. But when a tiny amount of water (that weighs very little) is wetting the grounds in the dripper, the extra water clings to the side of the smooth plastic and runs around onto the base. This is totally preventable by skipping the wetting process. That's designed to let gas escape from the coffee grounds. But the gas in the coffee grounds escapes just fine when you pour water over the coffee grounds up to the proper cup amount. It's just tiny bubbles on the top of the brewed coffee, that's all. The gas is still escaping. But when you do it this way, you have no "splashing" onto the dripper base. Problem solved. Skip the wetting process. The coffee is awesome!

Wonderful, so much better than the newer versions
While it's painful to spend $20 on something that used to cost $8, this is a wonderful pour-over brewer. It's really nice, thick, heat-proof plastic (MUCH better quality than the newer cheaper version). It is stable on a mug or thermos, it holds a metal or paper filter just fine, and I use it almost every day. Works great for pour-over and filtering cold brew. It replaced a Chemex, which are too fragile and a pain to clean, with very overpriced filters. I recommend a #2 filter for this.

Plastic. But, works great and filter provides a barrier.
It looks cute and my coffee tastes great. It’s super easy & fast to make coffee. Easy to rinse off or put in dishwasher. I wasn’t paying attention and thought I was ordering a glass product. I was disappointed about my mistake—nonetheless, I like it very much.

It's plastic, not glass
My Mom has this in white but I believe hers is porcelain or some sort of ceramic. I always enjoyed using hers growing up, I liked the feel and the weight of it but inevitably, eventually it broke. This red model is made from plastic so I'm guessing I'll have it for years and years to come. I think it looks stylish, it's easy to use and obviously perfect for making coffee for one person.

Don't worry about the reviews that mention leaking
I really don't understand what's happening in those cases. There's not really any way for it TO leak. It sits atop your mug, the filter goes in, the coffee, then the hot water. I hate buying plastic but this is easy to hold, store, use and I don't have to worry about chipping it. Use it almost every day. One odd thing the box includes a packet of filters...that are too big for this filter. Not a problem for me as I already had the small filters but it seemed odd.

Description is Wrong!
Deceptive description! This is NOT a 1-cup dripper that uses a #2 filter. This is a single cup, but it’s a 2 or 3-cup coffee dripper and uses a #4 filter. Very disappointed. Apparently, it doesn’t work that well, anyway, and makes a mess on the counter when using it. I’ll donate it. Maybe somebody will like it at the Goodwill store.
