Very good and good quality

It really works. I have peripheral neuropthy even though I am not diabetic. It takes a little while to work but it does. I also use it for RLS, restless leg syndrome. Been using it for about 5 years now and will continue as it does the job.

Good budget-friendly option for ALA. The size is a little large, which is worth noting if you have issues with swallowing large supplements. I personally don't have issues with large pills, but I would be aware of the size when purchasing. No smell or aftertaste. Easy to swallow and works well. I feel like I get a lot for the cost.

Love this! I have very painful nerve pain and cramps that travels from my hips/thighs/buttocks down my legs and into my feet. Sometimes the pain/cramps run reverse. Either way, it is extremely painful, landing me in the emergency room one afternoon, and having to get a pretty powerful injected pain killer. I was in tears, that's how much pain I felt. So I went to my rheumatologist who was treating me for osteoarthritis, peripheral neuropathy, and fibromyalgia. She prescribed a medication that did help (but not totally), but left me feeling drugged the following day. So I chose not to continue the medication. Our prior rheumatologist (he unfortunately for us retired!) had prescribed alpha lipoic acid to my husband for his peripheral pain. My husband recommended that I look into taking it, so I researched it and took it. I have to say, there is so much to be said about using non-prescription avenues. This supplement WORKED. Several weeks went by with NO painful night cramps and the peripheral pain subsided (but not totally). I RARELY have a cramp now, and when I do, it is not the muscle-gripping terror from before that would cause me to have to stand and bear weight on the affected leg. Trust me, I do NOT miss that kind of pain. It would make me nauseous and exhausted. I was taking another brand before but it was pricey (retired and watching expenses). Searched Amazon and found this Now brand. Works just as effectively and costs quite a bit less. VERY pleased, highly recommend. And yes, my rheumatologist is impressed with the results that I've obtained by using this supplement (I also take Omega 3's, D3 due to a serious insufficiency, CoQ10, multi vitamin, Biotin, magnesium and 3 prescribed meds for fibromyalgia and hypertension).

Great product

This is an honest non paid for non free item given review. I have several illnesses including a rare auto immune disease. Before my illnesses "took me down". I was taking GNC brand synthetically made ALA. It made my urine look bright nuclear green/yellow, with the typical ALA urine smell. My personal trainer said the nuclear color is normal, not to worry! (No, that is NOT normal). I believe it added more stress to my immune system crashing. After that, I stopped all GNC products. Now, I use NOW for most of my supplements. NOW is a solid company with great products that are SAFE! That tells you what's in them. I love this NOW ALA! No nausea, No nuclear green colored pee. But still the typical ALA urine smell, that is normal. My doctor believes in this stuff and did not need to recommend it to me since I was already on it. I believe this helps keep my immune system in check, even when I cheat on my diet! With a world full of free radicals, this NOW ALA is the product to use to keep them in check! 5 Stars!! For the price, quantity and how well they work!

I was prescribed alpha lipoic acid by my holistic doctor on being diagnosed with prediabetes. After the first three months of use at one capsule three times a day, my Hemoglobin A1c went from 5.9 down to 5.7 and my fasting glucose went from 105 to 93, both close to or within normal levels. This is not the only supplement I used specifically for my prediabetes - I also used Cinsulin by TruNature (a water soluble dilution of concentrated cinnamon extract) and chromium, which also both help with prediabetes or diabetes. I have also been eating healthier and exercising, and thus losing some weight, although much of that was after the second set of bloodwork about three months ago from today. The changes in the bloodwork therefore were almost entirely due to the supplements. I would highly recommend all three of these supplements for anyone with diabetes or prediabetes, along with healthy lifestyle changes. After eating healthier, exercising, and noticing that I have lost some weight (about 13 pounds over the last six months) without actually "dieting", I also just feel better all over. I feel strongly that all components of what I have been doing are responsible for the improvement, and that the alpha lipoic acid has been an important component in helping me. I plan to keep taking it along with the other things I have been doing, at my doctor's recommendation. Highly recommend.
