Very nice high quality product. The “grit” or texture on the boards will hold the pastels nicely. These are not cardboard. It’s actual pressed board of some type. Love the 4 colors in the pack. My first time buying these and can’t wait to try.

This is my go-to for pastels. It holds color well. Every once in a while there is a small area that will not hold color but overall this product works well.

Seller shipped in thin plastic envelope with no padding or protection, so the corners were smashed and damaged. Unfortunately I am stuck with these due to an assignment time crunch. If you need these for commission work find a different seller who will pack with care and understanding of the product!

There are good pastel papers, but, if you want to build many layers you will want to use something like PastelMat paper. But if your intent is to mount your work afterward with the best possible support while working, then you would do well to use these panels. They offer the advantage of many layers, smoothness, good support and durable longevity.

A very sturdy pastel stick surface, this board is able to take several layers of soft pastels. A very convenient painting surface with a good fine sandpaper-like surface coating.

Cute little board, I was disappointed at first because they were so small but once you start painting on them it's just fantastic ! Will buy them again.

I thought it was quite pricey for a small piece of sanded paper. Not so quick as this is very well made. It’s very rigid and ready to frame once you have completed your pastel masterpiece.

This is one of my favourite substrates for pastel. Love it!

What a fantastic support for pastel paintings! The clay surface is smooth & even; the marble dust provides amazing tooth without being overly rough. Pastel dust clings to the surface firmly & cleanly, but one can still blend & otherwise work with the pigments. I wish it were possible to get multiple packs in sizes other than 5X7, but for small, relatively delicate pieces this works brilliantly (in fact, I sent one such painting to a friend who received it today & is utterly smitten with the support). Highly recommended if you're someone who works with pastels. I'll be purchasing this again & again. :)
