Dad's Journal: What I Want You to Know About Me and My Life

All of us love to listen to stories of our parents or grandparents growing up and what they did. My father loved this book. It asks them questions or prompts them to remember things and events growing up. Then they write down what they remember. I look forward to the day I when I can read his book when he finishes it. He said it was a great gift! If you are looking for that one thing your parent doesn't have, I recommend this journal.

There are limited options for an outstanding dad keepsake journal on amazon (or other places). I bought a couple other books like this one for my dad on amazon, but the quality was extremely low causing me major disappointment and being forced to return them. If you’re like me, you want to have the perfect memory of your father. Finally, I decided to buy this one despite the lack of reviews and it being published just recently. This book is a great quality. It’s so durable both inside and out. I know this book will last me a very long time. The questions are great! You have front and back of a page to write a response. That should be more than enough to get the stories flowing. It’s not specific to any era of dad, so you can get this for younger fathers like my dad as well as older generation fathers. Some questions are silly kinda pointless but fun. Example: what was your favorite birthday cake or have you ever met anybody famous, but 95% of the book are deep, meaningful questions. Example, what do you believe happens after life, what are the high/low points in your marriage-how did you get through them, who was your first love, anything you wish you said to your kids, etc. My father is suffering from addiction and our relationship has went from best friends to non existent in the past two years. He is currently getting help and I can’t wait for him to work on this book. It’s going to be a great thing to have for myself, our family, my future children, and bonus I know it will help with his recovery. If you’re thinking about buying this book, please do. You will not be disappointed.

I got this for my 83-year-old dad for Christmas. He likes to write and has even authored a few books. A friend mentioned that she was getting her mom one of these kind of journals, and I knew it would be something he would enjoy. Sure enough, he has gone out of his way multiple times to let me know how much he is enjoying working on it. He says it is thought-provoking and sometimes emotional going through some of it. I'm sure there are things that won't pertain to him, but I know this is going to be something that I enjoy reading when he is finished. What a treasure it will be to pass on to my son!

I have my dad this for Christmas two years ago. It has been a wonderful experience listening to my dad’s stories as I wrote them down in the book. He enjoyed all of the memories he had forgotten. Best gift!

Nice and sturdy,the font isn’t too small and he questions are good! I was trying to find a journal that was Christian based but couldn’t find one and a lot of them didn’t seem as sturdy as this one,I do wish it had some empty pages to write in some extra experiences but that’s okay,that’s what staplers are for lol he questions are like,do you remember riding your first bike,what’s your favorite food growing up,etc they do get a little deeper as you get into the book though

I gifted this to my boss who loves to tell us stories and he cried when I gave this to him for Christmas. So I will give this a 5 star because I think it’s fun and memorable to go down memory lane and write your stories. I grew up with the older generation and they would sit around a table and drink coffee and tell us kids all their stories. I loved that and it’s not as common anymore. This book is a great way to give loved ones, friends, or even a stranger a way to tell their stories 💛

I looked for hours and read so many reviews! This book had the best reviews so I ordered it. It came in today and my, I am so happy with my purchase! It's actually thicker than I thought but that doesn't bother me at all! The questions are super cute and you have plenty of space to write a response. If you are a person who loves valued treasures, this is definitely for you! My daughter is 4 so my husband still has time to fill it up. I can't wait until she's able to read it, this book will definitely be sitting on her bookshelf for life!Now I'm debating if I should order myself the mother one?? Haha

This was given to a friend who's father was diagnosed with cancer. They really liked the gift. I gave it thinking that a family member could write his stories as he rested or took his treatments and then they could have a family keepsake. It also provided a chance to ask questions that sometimes we just don't think to ask our aging parents.
