Hello, Yes the standard camcorder size battery comes In the box. As well as a Professional stabilization handle and a 64 gb ad card. The battery charger does not come in the box so you will have to purchase one.This camera is in mint condition, you won't be sorry!

FDR-AX33 (I don't really need 4K but it has 1/2.3 sensor) vs HDR-PJ670 (I don't really need the projector; lightweight but only has a 1/5.8 sensor)

I'm not quite sure what the question is, however, if you are deciding which of the 2 to buy, the answer is easy: the FDR AX33. I have the Sony PJ340 and the AX33 is a much better camera. I am not shooting 4K because I don't have a video editor that can process it and I don't have a 4K TV. However, the AX33 also offers XAVC S HD, which is like 2K. This doesn't require a special video editor and it plays on any TV, but it is far superior to AVCHD, which is the best available on the Sony PJ camcorders. The AX33 also has AVCHD, but it is outclassed by XAVC S HD. This can demonstrated not only by eye, but also by the bitrate. As you know, bitrate is a measure of the amount of data included in the video. Comparing XAVC S HD with AVCHD HD: the bitrate for XAVC S HD is about 51,000 kbps while the bitrate for the best AVCHD on this camera is about 26,000 kbps, about half that of the XAVC S HD. Additionally, the stabilization on the AX33 is far superior to the stabilization on the Sony PJ cameras. AS far as I am concerned, it isn't even close. Memory format and requirements for 3 hours of video?

This is a trick question. Three hours of video can be obtained in multiple formats. At the highest quality setting (XAVC S 4K 100Mbps 30p setting) a 128 gig SD card will shoot 2hrs and 41 minutes. If you have a specific format you want to shoot in I can tell you what the 128 gig SD card will shoot.

Anyone have an idea of when the update software for mac sierra will be ready? i can't believe sony would not have this update. may send back.

Sony software? Don't waste your time with that stuff. You can directly load from the SD card into Final Cut Pro-X, iMovie, Adobe Premiere, etc. What I sometimes do is drag the entire SD card file directory on to my NAS. Later I can load from that into my video editing software just like it was a physical SD card. Camera companies are not in the software business so I'd recommend not using anything from them.
