Q: Can I use these beans in my Breville Barista Express with attached conical burr grinder (BES870XL) or will they ruin it with how oily they are?

I didn’t know this was an issue. I have the same machine and same coffee and haven’t had a problem in six months of ownership. You think they made a burr that can’t handle oily beans??

Q: To those of you who didn't like this roast, can you please recommend something that you like better?

I've tried 3 roasts from Kicking Horse, Three Sisters was spot on if you like bold flavor but smoother roast. Beans appear to be perfect blend of dark & medium colors.

Q: Is this for espresso machines brewing only?

No, I use it in my drip coffee maker and it's wonderful.

Q: Is the dark roast good for french press?

That's why a dark roast is often called French roast, it's made for a French press!
