These really are some great matches. There isn't a whole lot to say about matches that really needs to be said. Do they light easily? Yes. Do they stay lit? Yes. They do all the basics really well but what makes them nice is the other stuff that doesn't usually get mentioned.First, the box art has gotten me some compliments. I'm a cigar and pipe smoker and every time I pull these out someone compliments the art and the unique style. I'm also a dog trainer and former military dog handler, so the dog art on the box is really cool.Second, they have a really nice aroma to their burn. Does this make a huge difference? Not too much, you won't improve the smell of your home with them. It does make a difference if you light a pipe or cigar with them and your sense of taste is sensitive enough to pick it up. It added a very pleasant taste to some of my pipe tobacco. I had a few people actually comment on the pleasant smell of the match itself. Never heard that about any other matches or lighters I have ever used.Third, burn time. The length of time that they stay lit is perfect for cigars and pipes. They aren't too long that it makes you look like you have a burning chopstick in your hands and they aren't short enough that you'll burn your fingers while you focus on other things. I can get a few lights on my pipe easily. It also burns perfectly for a cigar. I can light the match, toast the foot of the cigar, then light it and smoke it with one match.These factors made my purchase well worth it. I don't use these matches all the time, I still have butane lighters and simple kitchen matches, but I really like bringing them out with me if I'll be in a more public place. The box art and the burn time makes it nice to have. They are a reliable match that I can count on to light whatever I need to. I also like having the box around to set things on/against or write quick notes on. My wife and I have a lot of candles around the house as well as incense so we can actually use one match to light all that we want. I see these matches as a quality single use match versus the kitchen matches that takes multiple matches to light numerous candles or get a pipe/cigar going. I'd rather bring this nice box of matches and only need a single match than to try to bring a ton of cheap kitchen matches that are hit and miss.There's more positives to these matches: I got them soaking wet and they still worked after letting them thoroughly dry. I wouldn't necessarily call them survival matches, but it isn't game over if they get wet. The box is also very useful for storage after you've run through the matches. I use one of my boxes as storage for pencil leads, x-acto blades, erasers, and sharpeners. I also use a second one to keep short USB and cell phone charger cables in, works perfectlySomething you may also not know from the product description is that you're getting 50 matches in this box. Each match is about 4 inches long. I haven't tried to strike these on any surface other than the strike plate, but they strike off of any similar striking surface. I had one match out but I put the box back so I grabbed a small matchbook and used the striking surface on that to get this match going. They light easily and quickly.If you want cheap matches I'm sure you can find a free matchbook or get a box of cheap kitchen matches. If you want a more quality match that is unique, reliable, and nice to use then you should buy these.

I like these matches. They have a long stick, so plenty of time to ignite anything. Also, a cute box :). I'll buy these again.

Cute box, terrible matches. I didn't know you could make bad matches, but this company did. Two out of three spark and fizzle without ever lighting.

The package makes these cute as a novelty gift (I got them to go with a candle gift) but I wouldn't buy for frequent use as they are a bit pricey here. The size is nice for candle lighting

Perfect product. Cute casing and the matches aren't faulty. The longer matchsticks make for easier lighting of candles that have burned way down low into the jar.

Why does amazon ask about "warmth" and "thickness" on nearly every product I review? They are extra large matches, so yes they are thicker than the average match and when you strike one-very warm! These are great matches. A bit pricey, but as they were part of a gift of candles for a dog loving friend, I am cool with that. I very much wish these fancy match boxes were made of the old fashioned thick heavy brown cardboard like the ones from 50+ years ago. This white thin stuff they use is a bit flimsey and lacks the right vintage "feel" so to speak. Will I buy a lot more of these? Absolutely.

Besides the cool box, the matches inside are pretty great too. They're long and thick, easy to grasp. And, they're quick to light; even a tiny swipe at a spot on the striker bar does the trick.

The design on the box is very attractive, just as it looks. However, the first six matches I tried sparked and went out immediately. They are defective. I will not buy from this company again; I have bought these kind of matches from other companies and love them, but these are bad.
