Q: IS there a reason that you are emphasizing 'white skin' instead of, say 'clear skin' or 'healthy skin'? is this product just for people who are white?

This is not for White people only. As far as i know this pond’s pure white is developed for the market who wants to have a whiter skin. This product i think is marketed to Asian country where Skin Whitening becomes an obsession. Somehow the concept of what is beautiful is if you have fair or white skin but of course its differs in every culture and country. This is why its called pure white as they claim as you use it, it will give you a glow that fairer skin has- something like that. I am using this not because it will make my skin whiter because i dont want that i already have fair skin. i am a fan of this because its really cleanse my face especially after make-up and not breaking me out. Hope my answer somehow enlightens you. Everyone can use this as for me this is really a good cleanser especially if you are lazy to use make up remover and get rid of those thing from your face.

Q: Does this product have skin lightening properties?

No lightening properties and also. I suffered major product damage from this item. Took me MONTHS to clear my skin after using this I use Loreal products consistently
