Celebrate the retro style of the historic Japanese capital in this special edition GEL-KAYANO 26 Retro Tokyo running shoe from ASICS. This updated version combines advanced components with a striking new design that honors Tokyo's heritage. The GEL-KAYANO 26 shoe allows you to tackle long distances in comfort, thanks to the rearfoot GEL technology that's been redesigned for improved shock absorption upon impact. You'll also benefit from a bouncy feel that stems from the FLYTEFOAM Propel midsole technology. The DUOMAX technology in the midsole offers better support and helps resist excessive overpronation while I.G.S. technology promotes smoother propulsion. Additionally, this style is accented with reflective detailing to improve your visibility when running in low light settings. Get the inspiration and support you need to smash your training goals in the special edition GEL-KAYANO 26 Retro Tokyo performance running shoe from ASICS.

Feels Great
I generally do not spend what the price of this pair of running shoes is advertised at. BUT, I have a size 14 flat-foot and my ankles have my feet rolling inward. This was supposed to provide good support and be specific to the way my feet roll in. The minute I put them on and took a few steps, I was sold. They fit perfect. The support is very good. They are indeed comfortable. I wear steel-toed work boots at work which are heavy and tire my feet. These running shoes are a joy compared to them. I do a lot of walking as most of us do when going out to shop or to assorted events. These running shoes don't tire my feet out and I can get in a lot of walking. I will buy another pair when these wear out.

Greatest support shoe for large overpronators
I am not really that big (about 6 foot 220lbs) and have been using a certain other brand who touted their shoes for overpronators for over 12 years. I read the current reviews and decided based on those reviews to purchase a pair of Asics Gel Kayano 25 size 12 medium. I had used the original pair for about about a year until they started to wear out. The cushioning starting to thin out and holes where the big toenails come in contact. Now that I have a new pair.....wow. I have been walking on the old ones but now these are definitely the best support shoes in years. I am older now (65) and am attempting to get back into running after surgery (not running related). I feel great on the treadmill and will transition to the track shortly. Being a fairly large individual with flat feet these shoes are beautiful, not only to look at but NO PLANTAR FASCIITIS! I am in heaven. I believe that these shoes helped me heal after a severe bout of the above injury and they keep me running pain free. I have tried more than a few from other manufacturers and after running in one pair of a relatively cheaper shoe, I was in such excruciating pain that I could barely walk for a few days and suffered pain for months until I tried the Asics. I have been running since the late 60's and I wish that I had had these shoes back then. Great shoe, try it, you'll like it.

Very comfortable and supportive, even when on feet for 10-12 hours a day
These shoes are amazingly comfortable and stand up to daily wear of 10-12 hours a day. My feet used to hurt after shifts at work wearing other shoes, but these were comfortable and alleviated foot pain after long shifts on my feet for 10-12 hours at a time.

Update:Tread showing considerable wear after 70 miles
Two star: Upper is holding up nicely. Tread is already worn out after only 70 miles. I tried ASICS because reviews talk of superior durability. So far for me upper is good, sole is not.Update: I reached out to ASICS about the tread life. After sending pictures of tread wear after 70 miles they sent code for replacement shoe from ASICS.com.That’s pretty awesome customer service in my book.So far 20 miles on new Kayano fit and finish is great.Comfort on gel-Kayano 28 is far superior to previous models.Extra wide is a touch narrow but all in all the first 20 miles is running great.

Low quality but very comfortable
Now I know why these shoes are so light-weight. They are quite thin. My large toes haven't rubbed through the top of the shoe yet, but I'm holding my breath. As with every other shoe brand on the massive shoe market, these shoes have no arch support. I had to remove the insole that came inside them and glue in my own inserts. It's madness. Every pair of shoes I have purchased in the last 15 years has had zero arch support. This means after paying the price for the shoes, I have to spend another $30 for shoe inserts. I know, I'm venting! This pair isn't any worse than any other pair I've worn. But, do all human beings have feet soles that are flat as Kansas? ALL the shoe companies seem to think so!

Amazing running shoe for stability runners. Runs a tad small
I used to run in new balance 990v4 and the size was 12-2E, for a couple a years i moved to brooks GTS and i love it so much, i am 12-4E on brooks GTS. For the Kayano i ended up getting a 12.5-4E because the 12 was almost ok but the front of the shoe was a bit narrow (comparing it to the brooks side by side i could see it's much narrower).I got it to alternate with the Brooks, as their technology is different (brooks have the guide railes while asics use the cross medial post for stabilityu), and i love them. just did a first 5k and i could literally feel my feet working a bit different which is what i wanted. very comfortable and very supportive. I will probably add the kayano to my permanent rotation.

Great trainer sneakers
I have a history of plantar fascilitis and need a running sneaker with maximum cushion. I replaced the insoles with the orange colored Superfeet and the sneaker is a great walking/training sneaker. I replaced my Kayano 20 with this one and I am happy with it. The orange Superfeet insoles makes a big difference and the insoles that came with the sneakers are flimsy. I can see why reviewers complain about it.For when I need to run for time I use the Saucony Triumph 17. I wish I could use lighter speed sneakers, but I need the cushion to protect my feet. The Triumph 17 feels a lot more energetic than the Kayano 26. The insoles that came with the Saucony Triumph 17 are great as well and when I wear them I feel like my feet are sinking into mash mellows. I like the little bounce the Triumph 17 gives me when I am running.Albert

Walking on a cloud— literally
Big fan of the gel kayano series, having started with the gel kayano’s 21, and now with these pair of kayano 26.These shoes make you feel like you’re walking on clouds rather than on the ground and running is so much better in these shoes. These shoes really do what they are said to do, cushion your feet from the shock of stepping. These shoes are pricey and for the first couple weeks that you need to break them in, they might be a tad uncomfortable but after, it will feel amazing.Would recommend to anyone!
