Master Nage's Guide To Training Consensual Slaves Paperback – January 10, 2005

I purchased several books from amazon on this subject and this is my favorite. This is now a how-to manual for specific kinks. (For that, I would recommend _The Loving Dominant_) Instead the book considers many of the emotional aspects of erotic submission and slavery. I found that the book provided a lot of excellent insight into my relationship as well as the D/s world in general. I would highly recommend this book for someone who is looking for insight or guidance outside the bedroom.Howerver, Master Nage's approach is at times inflexible. Putting a lot of emphasis on specific ways of meeting people, and specific ways that he structured relationships. (For example, collaring and contracts.)

I thought this book excellent for its insights into the psychological drives of those who would be slaves and the responsibility that the master has towards them. I have not seen such insights in any other book on the subject so I must give it five stars for that reason.

For the straight cis guy who wants to do D/s with straight cis women. This is a humorous 101 guide from a get guy with real experience. Warning for generalizations such as "all slave are submissive, not all submissive are slaves" and "slaves don't have limits". Sometimes true. Maybe a good generalization for the het kink community. I tend to think anyone without limits needs to be taught better. For example a limit can be "don't kill me" or "I won't live a vanilla lifestyle." I recommend reading more than just this perspective. But it's a fine starting place if you're coming from a pretty cis normal starting place.

I liked the more physiological approach he takes to the Master's role. Very informative for a "newbie" and lots to be learned.

Didn’t learn anything new. It’s a good book for beginners, but anyone who has been in the lifestyle probably won’t get much.

I enjoyed this book. To be completely honest there are better guidebooks for the lifestyle out there. However, this book was like talking to your favorite uncle who happened to kinky and who was happy to tell you everything about his personal experience. It was an easy read, almost conversational, without a bunch of jargon or academic analysis. There were some helpful hints in the book. Overall it is half autobiography and half handbook. If you find this book at a good price and if you are curious it will make a decent read.
