This fuel pump was not wired or built the same as the original. It blew a resister (which was not in the original pump) almost immediatly after install. If i hadnt waited so long to install i would be asking for my money back. However, Since the pump failed, i had to run the fuel through a syphone hose which caused the gas to leak, due to to much fuel in the carborator. Pile that with my bike not starting for some reson, when we went to jump it, it threw a spark into the leaking fuel setting fire to my bike. If only the GD fuel pump had worked.

This is an exact replacement except the plug connector was different so I cut off the old one and butt connected it to the new one. I am used to this. I can't see returning it when it's an easy fix. It was a great value at 22 dollars compared to the $109 price from Yamaha. It functions the same as the original. Easy to install under the left chrome side cover.

Fuel pump comes up as a fit to the V-Star650 and it did fit after I cut the plug off and wired in the old plug. Not uncommon on these cheap fuel pumps. It works and does what it needs to. Just would have like to know that the plug was not going to work or fit

The fuel pump is a high quality part!! Fit perfect on my Yamaha vstar 1100 only thing I did was swap the pigtail!!!

I bought it, i put it on, i rode the bike 5 miles. Now broke down, no fuel pressure. Junk. Dont buy it

Honestly I can't tell you if I like or dislike the fuel pump as of yet I can tell you that I very much dislike the first one that I got of this item. I did receive the fuel in a very timely fashion installed it on my 04 Yamaha V Star 1100 Custom Classic noticed upon the very first turnover of the bike that there was a louder than normal clicking sound coming from the fuel pump but the bike started figured everything will be okay. Unfortunately the next day I was placing the fuel pump in an Amazon drop off Locker for a return because it stopped working currently waiting on a replacement fuel pump from the same company same type of fuel pump to see if this one will actually work for longer than a half a day.

Heed the previous reviews warning that this is not a direct plug and play fit for the xvs1100 without some slight modifications (replace & solder the electrical connection clip). Other than that, works fine.
